You have to start again from the beginning, but if you are filing anywhere but Buffalo, you only file a simplified Application, unless you have a AEO. You better improve IELTS score before applying. Without a job offer, check here for processing times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02a-skilled-fed.asp

I don't know which application would be asking for 7 as a minimum score but for the skilled worker application, it is not a minimum but you do get points for scores as well as many other aspects. It is possible that he was tight with points, overestimated his language points and when he took the IELTS and got less language points than he had estimated that it put his total points below the mark.

I may have been misinformed then. What I was told that I would have to get a average of 7 out of all four tests. Is this correct? I just took my IELTS last Saturday and now I am awaiting my results.

I don't know which application you are doing. Are you applying for federal skilled worker under the points system or if not, what are you applying for?

You must be asked to score high (minimum 7 band) in order to achieve 67 points, but getting 7 is not a condition for applying.

Dear Tanveerahmed,

What was your total score..? Was it below 67 point after final assessment...? I think only IETS score 5.5, may not be reason for rejected of the case.

Dear Seniors, pls reply, am I wrong...?

In this forum lots of member may have 5.5 points in IELTS, who are in the queue and now waiting for the decision of CIC. Personally I am really afraid... reading this topic as my score also 5.5 in IELTS. Fyi, I applied under skilled worker in March, 2006 and as per assessment my total score is 69 points.

Senior members, pls input your comment/ advise. I am afraid...

Thanks & regards,

You just need enough points. It's not a requirement to have 7 as a IELTS score unless you calculated your points with 7 as IELTS score and you need those points.
