Dear All,

I was just concerned about an issue; Expert members please help about it.

Scenario:
A person has applied under PNP (SINP) and has got the immigration visa recently.

Questions:
1. Is it necessary for a person and his/her family to stay/live in Saskatchewan for the next 2 years in order to get next PR renewal.
2. Is it necessary for a person and his/her family to stay in Saskatchewan for next 3 years in order to get citizenship.
3. Ifanswer for above 2 questions is "Yes"; and some one does not comply it; what could be the possible cosequences.

Will be waiting for the reply of expert members. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Regards
Asifov

They will not extend your PR & you must have leave country.. As simple as it is.
If you have good reason to leave the state, like not able to find a job in SK etc., then you have to mention them about this situation properly and then change the state.
Let me know if you need more help.

Yes it is necessary to stay in the province of nomination..see the information below posted by Leon on another thread.

Posted by LEON:

There is no mandatory official "staying-time" for any PNP. However, you do sign a statement saying that you are intending to settle in that province. If you can be proven to have lied on any of your immigration papers, you can lose your PR.

It is only recently that immigration has started to cancel PR visas of people who are trying to land outside their PNP province and who either admit or evidence shows that they are not planning on settling there. Others have been given their PR but put on watch by the PNP in their province to look into if they do settle in that province and leaving it up to the PNP to report them if they don't.

In the future, the provinces themselves might crack down on this behaviour even more. It is possible that you will get away with leaving soon after landing and nothing will happen to you. It is also possible that they will find you in a year or two or three and ask you since you came through their program, what attempts you have made to settle in the province. If you left a day after you landed as a PR, you will not be able to say that you made any attempt. Therefore, it is safer to start out in your PNP province and try to find a job there. If you have been there for a few months and are unable to find a job but get a job offer somewhere else, then you can go ahead and move. If anybody were to ask you later, you can tell the truth, that is, you intended to settle, you gave it a try but unfortunately it did not work out for you there.

You have to stay in SK as long as you are under the nominee program. If you get your PR card you can move to another province. You do not have to stay in SK until you are a citizen. The consequences are different for each individual case.
