Employee reference letter

There are lot of folks who have questions regarding Employee Reference letter and some of major companies are not ready to give the roles and responsibilities on company letter head. Please follow the below. This was posted in the Canadavisa blog and I forgot the name of the person. Please excuse me if Iam pasting your inputs here.


1. Take the letter from the company but make sure they mentioned the: current designation, working hours of job (full time or part time),
type of employment (permanent or temporary).
2. Then take another letter from your direct boss/manager, which includes the detail job descriptions. It can be in plain paper, but make sure that your managers email address and address is official.
3. Also attach supporting documents like: Tax Clearance or Salary Adjustment or Promotion Declaration Letters if possible.

Send all the letters with your application.
I hope it will work, one of my ex-colleagues did the similar I mentioned. It worked. I hope, it will work for you also.

It's risky not to. CIC specifically requested for it, so it's better to provide.
I doubt my bank will provide the letter in the format CIC requested. I think they will probably just issue a standard reference letter.
I'll probably submit that along with my 6 months bank statement.
However, my case is simple because i'm using just a statement. In a case where you're using term deposit or other means, you might really need the letter to strengthen your case.

Thanks one_topsy i thinksl its better to have additional documents there is no harm i will try to get reference
letter on letter head if they dnt give on letter head will take it on pleane with their stamp and plane paper along with bank address details.
There is still time as i am also wating for ITA now.

I got the nominated approval letter on 6th Dec, but to this day I see no changes in myCIC profile. Neither is there any new message about this nomination, nor is there any update where I can see my SINP nomination. I notice that many here who got nominated after me, have already got messages in CIC account.

In this situation, if a draw happens tomorrow, and if my 600 points has not come by then, I'll only have my bad luck to blame. ;D

So, I emailed SK immigration requesting them as humbly as possible, to update my CIC profile or to let me know if there are any technical issues with my profile that prevents them from updating. I hope I either get a response from them, or an update to my CIC profile today. Anyway it takes 24 hours for those elusive 600 to arrive.

@Hot2Cold, @One_topsy - What do you guys think about my situation? I know this nomination is valid for 6 months and there is time, but if I miss a draw after nomination it is only unnecessary delay, isn't it?

I understand how you feel. By the time I accepted my nomination and got my 600 points I missed the ITA by a few hours. Hang in there. The delay was probably due to the technical issues with CIC so you should get an update soon.

As for a draw tomorrow, it is just wishful thinking. I definitely pray that it is tomorrow, but most likely will be next week. In all the draws so far, only 3 times were the draws only a week apart. the average is 2 weeks, so most likely you will get your 600 points before the next draw.

You will get the email from CIC and the prompt to accept/decline the nomination in your CIC account.
After that hope you get the 600 pts immediately or another waiting period.

In my experience letter from HR, my company HR mentioned only from and to dates of employment and designation.
After going through a few posts today am really confused if I should request for more information and send it to SINP email now?
Note: My application status changed to in progress on Dec 08th.......

I now saw the SK nomination in myCIC and accepted it, and really thankful to the officer who acted so promptly. Three cheers to him/her! 8)
