Hi,

My brother applied for SINP under NOC 1226. His application got rejected. Reason: He didn't meet SINP requirements related to education for NOC 1226. They need a degree or diploma in hospitality, public relation or tourism. But my brother completed his BBA and MBA (Marketing major) and ECA is done.

We found NOC 0124 is more aligned to his field of work.

The questions are:

1. Should he do a fresh application or appeal against the rejection?
2. Is it fine to change/update job roles & responsibilities related information in the profile for a new application compared to the previous one?
3. How much chance is there to get a positive response by changing the NOC?

Thanks and appreciate any input.

I would say hire a lawyer for easy input. Because your job will remain same. You can’t just change your job requirements and specifications. Only thing you can do is change NOC as per your job and resubmit the application again. Because if your appealing the rejected application again its not going to make sense because your previous study and job will remain same and they not gonna change their decision based on that. I hope it helps. But i would really suggest go to a professional lawyer. Thanks

I have same noc and my qualification are BBA and MBA

can you confirm us do you have same noc experience or it was different?

pls also share the timelines of your case . i got OID ITA on MAY 1 2019 and submitted my case on 27 June 2019 , still my status is same "application received ".

Thanks for your advice. Is there a realistic chance getting a positive outcome with changing the NOC, that's the question.

Thanks, will do that. But it's still not clear if NOC 0124 will be the best choice.

These are the roles worked.
- Lead, Even and Trade promotions
- Assistant Manager, Marketing
- Officer, Event Management
- Asst. Manager, Event Management
- Trade Marketing Ex.

Thanks.

Hello,
Did you receive any ADR before getting the rejection? or they send the rejection letter straight away?

What did you do next? did you reapply?

Why do you think they rejected it? In the website below:

https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=122372&CVD=122376&CPV=1226&CST=01012011&MLV=4&CLV=4

NOC 1226:

  • Employment requirements
    • A university degree or college diploma in business, tourism or hospitality administration is usually required.
    • Several years of experience in hospitality or tourism administration or in public relations are usually required and may substitute for formal education requirements.
    • Certification relating to special events, meetings or conference management may be required.

Marketing Management is under Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Business Administration is stated above. Is the job you're applying for or your experience relates to hospitality?
