hi guys
i applied on 18th of may and my one employer letter and settlement plan was missing which i have provided on 21st of may and they replied back that we received your documents but we may not accept them during our basic review. Since 18th my application is stuck on application received status and mostly people are on in process state any idea whats going on my doc is 0714

These details are mentioned in CIC documents checklists and application guide.
I had also received this as an answer from SINP in one of my email queries.
There have been cases when shorter periods have been accepted but only after the applicants provided a written explanation.
This is what I know. Rest is upto SINP.

I have never ever heard of 6 months requirement. I have been asked 2 times during my case in 2014, but both times i was asked for submitting transactions of last 3 months.

Just today, my friend got Passport Request, he got nominated by SINP in Dec - 2015 stream, and he was also asked to submit POF two times during his process by CIC and both times he submitted last 3 months and today, PPR is in hand.

May be, in your specific case of any friend, it was asked to submit for last 6 months. But i have never heard of this since i applied in April 2014 and i got PPR in Feb 2015 and in that 10 months time, i was closely following these forums, i can't recall a single case where anyone asked for 6 months statement but still, they can ask, and if they ask, you have to give it. But as per my experience, i never saw such case.

Till your application is not returned, you are in good shape. There are many people with you yet to go in process. Be positive.

You are right, thats why i said, its extremely rare, i don't know why Visa officer suspected your friend's bank statements.

Anyways,

Its extremely rare that once might be asked to provide 6 months statement if the transactions are normal in their accounts, like salary coming every month as deposit transaction and expenses accordingly reflecting in shape of withdrawal transactions...
