A copy of IELTS is required for all NOC's if you read the checklist instruction carefully. It just stated it was not required for the specified NOCs prior to 2013 but now required

They may not take it as an important document anyway because they expect the province that nominated to have used the original and may have even sent the details to them. But from the instruction, which is confusing though, a copy is needed. Cheers

For Question 5 "Personal details of your Mother" in the form its mentioned "Family name at Birth", but same is not mentioned in guide it says;

Should we mention mothers name at birth or after marriage name?

her passport expiry date in August 2016 (less than 2 years from now)

Actually the processing will take more than year (hopefully less based on new initiatives they have taken) hence by that time the officer adjudicate the case the expiry would be close or less 6 months. So at that they require 6 months of passport validity before issuing any visa. Instead of one more query from cic just for passport which will delay couple of months at that time, its being asked to renew (if possible). But its not possible to renew before 12 months. Only thing is you need to wait till Aug 2015 to get it renewed. But careful on your timeline. If any issues then do not worry about the process of renewal and just send the application pack.

How come they missed mentioning the same for me. My wife's passport expires in Jan 2016 which i am renewing next month anyway for the above said reason. If there is any issue/delay in renewing then i am sending my pack by June/Jul 2015 so that there is no issue in sending the pack.

You should renew the passport as per their suggestion. If you are from India, then new passport will also have old passport number.

It doesnt not matter where you renew from. Procedure is same. We do not get same passport number unless we add pages to the existing passport in case of exhausted pages. I have renewed passport for me and for my son which resulted in brand new number which i also assumed it would be same but it will not be the same. But nothing to worry about passport number change in cic application which is the case for many as these processes are very long for which passport will be renewed for many applicants.

You can also make an instant online payment and attach receipt to your application instead of filling the payment form. The payment form is good if you want to know when they accept and start processing your application in Sydney

I'm still to start my research on CIC part. In the meantime can you please share the procedure and link where I can learn about how to do instant payment and attach the receipt with application.
I personally think it's better than sending Bank DD and giving credit card details as DD takes sometime to encashed and cause delay than the instant payment and giving credit card details has a fear of decline. I'd probably do instant payment and attach the receipt with my application. Thanks

How to pay your fees - 2 options (the below ones for the location i am in)
Apply on paper and pay online
Send payment with your application

Yes this is the best way to avoid any issue with the payment. One less headache whether the payment went through our credit card/demand draft/etc. The only thing in this is we will not know when they encashed it which we will know if its credit card but dangerous thing is if credit card is not working at that time its a major problem as the application would be returned. so online payment is good.
