Hi

I'm in a bit of a situation right now. I went to Canada in June 2010 to visit my fiance, on a single-entry TRV that was valid for 6 months. I was going to go in December 2010 again but then I had some problems at home to deal with. Mother was ill and other stuff as well. I had gotten another visa single-entry TRV (that was valid for 2 months) but I did not use to due to what I had to deal with at home. I then had to postpone my travel plans and I did contact the office in Pretoria (I live in South Africa), to tell them about my situation and I asked if it could be postpone for a while. They said no and that I had to apply again. Okay. I just have to questions:

1) Will the fact that I did not use my visa cause any trouble for me to get another? I know that I will have to provide reasons why I did not use that visa. Will a letter be enough?

2) After my incident, I was thinking maybe I will need a multiple-entry TRV.. I just wanted to know if they have a different way of looking at things for a multiple-entry visa. Will it be more difficult to get one? Are there different requirements? or is it the same as getting a single-entry?

Please help..

1. No, it wouldn't cause trouble. Yes, you could certainly include a letter.
2. Same standard of proof is used for single-entry and multiple entry. However you would want to tell them why a multiple entry is being applied for but that should be easy enough.
