single entry or multiple entry visa?

Hi everyone,

I'm a visa student in Canada. Just wondering if I go back to my home country-Vietnam and come back to Canada, do I need a single entry or multiple entry visa? I have already sent my application to Buffalo for single entry visa but my friend told me I must apply the multiple one. I'm assuming visa is for entry to Canada, so it's only coming back to Canada that counts but not going back home-Vietnam.

If it is the multiple one that I have to get, what should I do? re-send my application?

I suppose you would have to apply for the multiple-entry visa. I am assuming that as soon as you leave Canada your visa (single-entry) will be cancelled, in which case you would not be able to enter Canada.

Well if you want to leave and re-enter Canada more than once, I would apply for a multiple entry. What happens if there is a family emergency at home and you have to return? You would then have to apply for another TRV abroad to return to your studies.

My study permit will expire on July 2010 and as well my visa. Because of school, I have no plan of going back home during school time. That's why I was thinking single entry would be my option and applied because it allows me to entry to Canada once. I've never thought that visa would be cancelled when going back. This is my first time applying...so srewed up
There's only 1month of summer left and re-applying probably takes at least 2weeks to process. *sigh*

Well what happens if i aply for a single entry and i have a invitation wich is writen on it by my father an multiple entry request?I don't think i have many chances to get aproved because i'd aplyed for permanent resident abroad,wich the lady from the embassy(where you go and leave the papers) gave me when i showed her my papers and my intentions,and now i'ved cancelled all my posibilites of leaving without a sponsorship wich takes beetwen 4 months and longer....Do you think there is a chance to be aproved,iven thought i asked for a permanent resident abroad wich i diden't knew i wasen't able to get,beacause i haden't been in Canada since 1989..Both of my parents are there and i havent seen them for a long time,and this year i hopes we would see each other...IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE ADVISE ME,in two weeks im going at the embassy,i don't know iven if they will lget on another interview..

Hello,

My name is maria, I am applying for my third time canadian visa. The first one was multiple entry but it expired in less than 2 months because the american visa expired too. Then, I applied single entry being as an aupair in USa and they gave me a worker visa which expired in less than 6 months. I am styudying in USA until august 2015. I am not planing to go back to colombia, my home country, but I am planing to visit london in summer, then come back to USa to keep studying. I love canada, I visit canada at least 3 or 4 times per year since I have been in USA. CAn I apply for a single entry? to go in febrery and then come back in march and then in summer after my trip to london? I am not planing to leave USA in awhile to return to my home. So its ok single visa? I am afraid it expires less than a year.
