However, if anyone can tell me, since Dhaka, Immigration section is closed, passports already been received to send to Singapore for spousal sponsorship visa, will be sent back to Dhaka for pick up or Singapore office will mail that to the applicant?

Till now two applicants of the FAM class got mail from SVO that their passports will be sent back by mail and not through CHC Dhaka, even though they submitted the passports there. So I think it will be the same for all FAM class applicants.

Have you checked the status from their online service?

Hey Amy,

Actually I sent an email to singapore early April to know if they have received my file or not. They replied :

Thank you for your enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

All applications to sponsor relatives for permanent residence in Canada are initiated by the sponsor, who submits an undertaking of support to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga. Once CPC Mississauga approves the sponsorship, both our office and the sponsor are notified. In sponsored spouse and child cases, the applicant's application and supporting documents are forwarded by CPC Mississauga to the visa office for priority processing.

Our records show that, in this case, we have received notification from CPC Mississauga that the sponsorship has been approved, but we have not yet received the application kit, including all the necessary forms and supporting documents.

We trust this information will be of assistance.

I Called the call center 3 times and every time they said something diff. first time , the agent said its in cpp ottawa ( for which i was shocked), the second time the agent said she doesnt know and the third time the agent said its in Canada. I just dont understand and i dont knw hw reliable is the call center. I wish there was a way to find out where exactly my file is and why is it not in singapore yet

Due to the change of visa office, this file can take at least 18 months from your last contact to get any further stage as per my experience.

However, I would strongly suggest you to visit your spouse at least once in a year period otherwise Immigration can give you more hard time eventhough it was their fault.

On the other hand, if you can not get any further information from CPC or SVO and a 6 months period has been passes since last contact, please try to enquire by your local MP since it is your legal rights to sponsor your spouse and which can also help you to expediate the file process.

Do not rely on CPC 100% because most of the time agent answers from a different offices than you sent your application and they are also vague as they don't have enough information in front them to answer you.

Wish you good luck. Before you see the MP please make sure you have all the correspondence handy and if possible check the eCAS and have copy with you. Normally MPs goes by appointments as they are always busy so have an appointment first. However, they normally try to avoid you but don't be excited but be tactful to get your job done. I hope once he/she will be motivated after knowing your situation, he/she will definitely help you.

So you eCAS still not showing "in process" ?? dont count the November , count the time when your file was transfered to singapore
