This topic is meant for application under family class sponsorship. The timeline is different from all other classes. :)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

have a glass of lemon juice ;D, mine's a similar timeline and status, still we await

Is it just my point of view, or does Singapore appear to be one of the slower offices generally speaking?

I really had hoped my wife would have her RP by year's end with filing in early February but in reading this thread it appears that might be wishful thinking.

I must admit to be curious as to what takes so long to check? I mean they can't be phoning every contact, or following up on every picture in a file, I wonder what the actual job description is, and what is actually done with an app once it hits the VO's desk.

I know how you feel Lemon.
I open my mail box and wait for the postofficer everyday.
It's has been almost 5months since I've submitted my application.
I'll send they an e-mail if one of us can't get PR by the end of this month.

Cheers :)

Hey Zzzz and Sadatul...

I was already in Canada. I was waiting for my wife's sponsorship. Yeah, everything went well and she is already here with me in Canada :). Sorry for the long absence. I went to Dhaka for 2.5 weeks to complete my Wedding Reception and to bring her back here. I just returned yesterday.

Here's the complete time line for my wife:

Category........: Family class sponsorship
Visa Office......: Singapore
July 19th, 2010: Sent application to Mississauga.
August 19th, 2010: Received letter from CPC-M confirming eligibility.
August 21st, 2010: Application in process in Singapore.
December 1st, 2010: Approval from Singapore & Received request to submit passport
December 3rd 2010: Passport Submitted to Canadian HC, Dhaka.
January 3rd 2010: Got letter from Canadian HC, Dhaka asking to collect passport
January 5th 2010: Collected Passport with Visa.
January 15th 2010: My wife landed in Canada
Today : She is hating the cold weather!

I hope this helps. In general, I was very satisfied with the time line. Singapore and Mississauga CIC were very quick and processed my wife's application much quicker than the average processing times mentioned in their website (even during Christmas and Holiday season).

The entire process took 5.5 months. Good luck you all.

Oh Boy! Awesome news Farhanz!!! Thank-you!~

Victorialad,

We are in the same boat as you, we got my spouses medical done in March but didn't end up sending our application until July. They must have a method of matching documents like that up. The worst that could happen is that they ask you to get another medical done right? Thank goodness it is cheap in Thailand hehehe.

I sent my medical FEB 2010, and my application sent to S'pore from Missisauga on MAY 2010, after waited a long time, they ask me to get another medical now because the last one is expired, argghhhh, Im in Canada already, and I dont know if I can just get the exam here, I hope I can.

I thought the medical exam would be so expensive here since I am not Canadian, but its not that much different than what I paid in Indonesia.

I hope it will go fast after this!!!!

@hello121- When you sponsoore your wife, you had put the address of your wife in singapore right? i am a caregiver here and applied for PR last august 2010, my spouse is a PR in singapore and i am just wondering if the embassy would let my husband have his medical done in singapore with my son since my husband is a PR in Singpaore? pls enlighten me thanks!

Does anyone have news from Singapore?

It's been over 5 months since we submitted and haven't heard anything since the file was transfered in November to Singapore. I heard that some people recently received their PR from Singapore within 4 months. But at the rate we're going, it's going to take at least 7 months (if we're lucky!)

It looks like things have slowed down.

It feels long. But befor you know it is the halfs time to leave their home Contry.

I totally agree with you, it's been very very slow lately :'(
