Hey Everyone,

So our application is basically finalized now, although our documents section looks a little strange (We mailed in the passport and photos and also uploaded a scanned document, they probably thought we were going to just leave it at the scan portion and not mail in the documents so they sent a more personalized email).

About time! Just can't wait to get the passport back at the VFS

Application : Closed
Review of eligibility : Passed
Review of medical results : Passed
Review of submitted documents : We need an additional document from the applicant
Scheduling an interview : Complete
A Background check is needed : Complete
Final decision : This application has been approved

Although we aren't leaving the forums anytime soon!

Congrats bro!

Hello!
I am married with a Vietnamese citizen. We applied for a PR last July. We appointed a lawyer to guide us through the process.
I live with my wife in Vietnam as i am lucky enough to have a job which let me work from abroad.

This morning i had strange visitors. Three people from the Canadian Embassy in Singapore came at our apartment. My wife wasn't there at that time. They asked me a few questions regarding her application (ex: how we've meet, how long we have been married, etc..), they also took pictures of the apartment. They told me i would have news from them in the next 2 to 4 weeks and then left. The whole thing took maybe 10 mins.

What the heck was that? They do home interviews? And unannounced? As anyone heard of something similar?

Very interesting! They used to call the applicants at their home in Bangladesh but not heard going home to home!

+1 for the information!

Hasan

Little update on my situation.

I told my lawyer about the visit. Apparently, Singapore has a "Flying squad" that does those kinds of visit when they doubt the legitimacy of an application. They think we applied in bad faith, and they visited to verify their suspicions. Hope they realized they were wrong.

Be aware guys, Singapore might knock at your door!

hello everyone,

I have one confusion. I was requested to pay my RPRF . in the letter they stated that-

"Send all the documents from the list below to this office in one envelope:

þ Your sponsor in Canada must contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF):
STEP 1: Pay Online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp
STEP 2: Submit Proof of Payment to CPC Mississauga:
Online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-after.asp
By Fax: 905-803-7392
By Mail: CPC Mississauga, 2 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 1200, Mississauga ON L4Z 1H8
NOTE: If proof of payment has not been sent to CPC Mississauga, our office cannot confirm the payment to continue processing your application."

my confusion is that my wife( my sponsor) was with me so my mother in law paid my RPRF from Canada and i send the receipt online through the link they given ( my wife) was visiting me that time. Any reply is hugely appreciated.

Hey guys... got ppr this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D. I emailed Mr.Richter last week on Thursday because it has been 5 months since I submitted additional docs that were requested and he replied in only 20 minutes saying he passed my query to the officer who has carriage of my spouse’s application and he asked that he have a look at the case sooner given the medical validity date (Her medical expires on March 7).
