got ppr yesterday morning from svo.

Congratulations to everyone that is moving along in the process! Seems like some good news lately, with PPR and the likes!

I'm just at the beginning of the process, although hopefully it will be processed in less than 12 months as promised (for 80% at least)... My outland spousal sponsorship application for my Thai husband was FINALLY submitted on January 10th, using the old application forms. Sent everything to my immigration lawyer back beginning of August, and they finally submitted it...

I got an email from Singapore VO to send in original passport and 2 passport size photo. Anyone have the smiliar cases coming from visa exempt country but still require to mail in original passport ? I check my status online and it was "decision made". I am kinda confused. I emailed to Singapore VO for clarification and hoping to hear back from them tonight.

Hello!
I am married with a Vietnamese citizen. We applied for a PR last July. We appointed a lawyer to guide us through the process.
I live with my wife in Vietnam as i am lucky enough to have a job which let me work from abroad.

This morning i had strange visitors. Three people from the Canadian Embassy in Singapore came at our apartment. My wife wasn't there at that time. They asked me a few questions regarding her application (ex: how we've meet, how long we have been married, etc..), they also took pictures of the apartment. They told me i would have news from them in the next 2 to 4 weeks and then left. The whole thing took maybe 10 mins.

What the heck was that? They do home interviews? And unannounced? As anyone heard of something similar?

I wish they came visit my wife, daughter and I. And everyone else if it speeds up the application to prove our relationship is genuine. Our house is insane. We live and support her 70 year old parents and including all my wife's brother's and sister's family we have anywhere around 30 people coming in and out the house on a daily basis.

I'm also Canadian citizen living in Vietnam for the past 3 years. But we live in Bien Hoa which is about an hour away from where the Canadian consulate is. Do you live near the Canadian consulate?

Thanks for the information. So it can happen... Hope they liked my apartment :D. My wife was doing a night shift last night (she's a doctor) and some of her stuff, like her toothbrush was missing. Hope they didn't notice...

I live in D11, tphcm. Bien hoa ain't that far, you might see them soon!

I hope so. My place ain't easy to find. Every courier have had to call for directions. It's hidden deep in an alley.

They can see me walking around half naked and my 7 month pregnant wife with our 1 year old daughter with all her toys littered all over the house. We still have those stickers they stick inside houses when you get married showing both our full name and wedding date 3 years ago.

My wife is in Canada now with PR,her daughter will now land in May before her expiry date. They will both have PR :) My wife is worried the daughter will not be able to return to Thailand to resume school in July.As a PR,you can come and go as you please? Am i correct? My wife seems to think she has to be in Canada for a period of time before she can go back?

Any feedback would be helpful.

Congrats to those with recent PPR & PR

Regards!

Dear Seniors, little help here. I am a PNP Outlander, my e-application was submitted on 14th Jan 2017 and received AOR on 14th Jan 2017. I am the principal applicant and both my husband and I are Singapore nationality. May I ask in this case, i mean we are both from visa-exempt country, will our application be processed faster (within 6 months)? And our applications will be sent to SGVO to process or can be directly processed at Ontario CIC office? Thank you!

Hi Christine, This discussion is for family class sponsorships. I would recommend reposting this question under the "Provincial Nomination Program Immigration" as the processing time is different from spousal sponsorship and parent/dependant sponsorship applications, as mainly discussed in this section of the forum.

Hey Everyone,

So our application is basically finalized now, although our documents section looks a little strange (We mailed in the passport and photos and also uploaded a scanned document, they probably thought we were going to just leave it at the scan portion and not mail in the documents so they sent a more personalized email).

About time! Just can't wait to get the passport back at the VFS

Application : Closed
Review of eligibility : Passed
Review of medical results : Passed
Review of submitted documents : We need an additional document from the applicant
Scheduling an interview : Complete
A Background check is needed : Complete
Final decision : This application has been approved

Although we aren't leaving the forums anytime soon!
