Medical expiring in less than 2 months. Still waiting this is getting depressing. Don't understand why they are purposely making us wait.

They approved someone that had no wedding in 2 months from when they received the application in Singapore. So that leads me to believe they can render decision made quickly. Seen others with interviews and getting approved faster than my wife's application.

Yes not good to compare with others as each application is different. Can't wait to receive my GCMS notes next week see if there is any further progress from 'Bona Fide' relationship. Spent majority of last 3 years in Vietnam not working is taking a mental toll on me. Part of me wants this application approved after my wife gives birth in April and part of me wants it approved now just to ease the burden of perpetual waiting.

We all just got to stay strong as we all are waiting for this painful process to end. Congratulations to everyone that have had their applications approved and being re-united with your spouse in Canada truely inspires me endure this long journey.
Yes after checking your latest GCMS notes, you will be able to grasp the latest development.

Don't feel too stressed and prepare for the extended time frame but expect expeditious PPR!

Good luck!

Thanks your comment it is very reassuring for me.

I guess when you don't work like I have for the last 3 years you have too much time to think and your mind wanders everywhere.

I need to stop checking the forum and my e-mail every hour lol.

i understand ur frustration, some of us went thru this and still some waiting. even genuine relationship they somtyms make marked to b interviewed. i went thru interview and had lots of mental pressure in my head. all is well u know. my GCMS note showed nothing about red flags. but i was prepared in interview. u can stop checking forum sotyms if it helps u. we only see the success but behind this we dont see the hurdles they did.
wish u good luck soon

I hear you about having lots of free time and constantly checking this website. I have been living in VN for the last 1.25 years. Although I had some contract work, I still had lots of free time. I swear, I must have checked this website 50 times a day. At one point, I just told myself to enjoy all that VN has to offer because the time will come when you and your wife will have to leave for Canada.

I really hope you get some news soon, but in the meantime, go enjoy some of the gorgeous beaches here.

SJgolfer, there is no visa stamp with a time limit added in the PR's passport. If you notice the PR Visa issued for landing is only valid for one entry. Once the entry is complete then that visa is cancelled and the PR will never need another visa as the PR card is what they use from now on to come back into the country if they travel abroad.

Correct, but the visa most definitely does have an expiry on it and it must be used before the date it expires.

Oh for sure the single entry PR ( Immigrant )visa issued for the landing has an expiry and maybe I misunderstood SJgolfers post. I thought he was asking about a new visa issued at the time of landing.

Hello everyone,
I just have a question regarding the visa fee. If you pass the interview, do you have to pay for visa fee again?
Thanks in advance
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

Hi All,

I just applied to sponsor my wife from Vietnam. I live in Vancouver, Canada.
I'm new to this can someone please help me clarify a few things?
On the status it said ' Medical Results Have Been Recieved A Decision Has been made at this point but I don't see the status of the results? What does it mean and what is the next step?

Permanent Residence

1. We received your application for permanent residence on November 30, 2016.
2. We started processing your application on December 9, 2016.
3. Medical results have been received.

Hi Tayster
I don't think we can check the medical result status on CIC, I think it will show in the CAIPS which you need to order it after 3-4 months of apply

Your timeline is similar as ours. I sent out Dec 6, and yours is 1 week before.

check out this thread.

been pretty quiet. I received my ATIP notes last week. They haven't even touched my files last 2 months. Still recommended pass on eligibility status since July.
