Hi,
How do you guys get the details of your application status? For us, it only says "in process".
Also, what is GCMN notes? Sorry if I get it wrong, its confusing with all these short forms. And I also contacted the MP office, the staff said they dont basically interfere with immigration process unless the processing times pass, so for SO, 12 months!

Create a GCKey and link the paper file to MyCIC. It will provide more info than ECAS.

GCMS notes are the case file notes and notes of the visa officer.

It gives an in depth look at what is happening with your file. It will also contain personalized notes by the officer processing the file as to what they think about your relationship/application.

12 months is for applicants in Singapore. Posted times go by country. Please refer to your country to see posted timelines if you are not Singaporean. SVO processes many countries and posted times vary greatly.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

I am checking the CIC link that you provided. But how to create a GCKey and link the paper file to MyCIC? I cant figure it out. How to request access to information about my file? Here its general Access to Information.

What does GCMS stand for?

Thanks.

Also what is ECAS?

oldrime, what do you mean by Med's Request: Upfront. I am not able to look at my status on ECAS for some reason. My timeline is around the same as yours too. Just got the medical request on 08/08/2016. Good Luck and wish you all the best for your application! ;D

Have anyone get a request for passport yet after Medical/Police Check from Singapore LVO for 2016 Parents Sponsorship? Do you know how many days you have to submit the police check? Thanks and good luck to everyone! 8) :D ;)

Just about everybody on this thread is sponsoring their spouse and does the medical exam up front before the app is filed.

I'm not sure if you are able to acquire a GCKey in some countries. Best option is to get your sponsor to do it on behalf of you.

Even though this is the thread for SVO, most of us are here with Spousal cases. You're better off here:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/2016-parents-grandparents-sponsorship-applicants-t390935.0.html

Isn't parents sponsorship taking somewhere between 4-7 years? Did they change things recently? Are you really expecting to get parents visa within the year? I'm honestly interested.

As of right now, the backlog for PGP in Singapore has significantly been reduced to the level that they can process files as soon as they come. The inventory is much smaller now compared to the old days. So yes, parents do wait less than 1 year to get visas from Singapore now.

Is it really a year? Thats a significant change from 5 to 1 year. Thats even faster than some spousal applications

Singapore is inviting PGP files submitted in 2015 and 2016 for medical requests. You can check those threads :) Since the beginning of this year, most visa offices do not carry PGP backlog anymore. Singapore only has less than 1,000 people waiting in PGP right now so about 500 files.

That's awesome.

Now I hope they can reduce the backlog on all other family class apps and process new ones quicker.

Excellent post. +1

I don't think OP will have trouble creating a GCKey however.
