We're still waiting for interview date from SVO.
We received our GCMS note yesterday. In the notes, Mississauga Visa Officer recommended interview (Eligibility) and she/he input the info below:

I think our red flag is the student refusals of my husband in 2014 and 2015. So we have to prepare well for the interview because we think the visa officer will ask some questions such as 'what's your intention to come Canada?' or "Do you try to obtain the status to come Canada?" ??? :o

The only thing we can prove to them is our relationship is genuine and those study refusals are not concerned to my sponsorship decision

Any ideas please :(

Hi thunderbay_vn,

im so sorry for the situation you're in right now. If you don't mind me asking, were you two together when he had received the student refusals?

Also, I found this thread some time ago. I know it's old but i'm sure the questions are still relevant. It will help with the interview I'm sure:)

We have been actually in relationship after he had received the student refusals but we met many times before. We knew each other when we were still kids

And we know our case is really really really tough in order to prove to visa officer, but we still hope... :-[

Aww thanks ThunderBay_vn!

I'm still new around here so I don't have much experience with different cases. In my opinion though it seems like your biggest obstacle would be proving to the officer that his application for a student visa was not to gain a PR status in this country and also that this sponsorship process has nothing to do with it. I would work on proving a solid relationship, which I'm sure won't be difficult since you've known each other from way back when and also if possible try and review his student application. Like reasons for refusal and also make sure the information you divulge in the interview matches the student as well as the sponsorship application. Lots of preparation I know but hopefully it will be worth it in the end plus we're always here to help you!

Hi guys, my husband received email from svo stating the need for me to do remedical and the submit the "cert of no criminal record from russia" within 30 days. I was studying in russia for 6 years and thus the request. Wen I submitted the application I already gave them the cert of good conduct from malaysia. And at the bottom there is a

Note: We are returning the original documents/photos you submitted in support of your relationship with your sponsor via Registered mail.

Is tat good or bad?
I kinda need to go the consular depart of russian embassay for the police cert ( well they wil apply in russia n then later I wil collect it from them) hopefully in time frame of 30 days.

If you go back a few pages, I think BonManush and a couple of other members received similar correspondence from SVO.

We thought that it was likely good news. If SVO is rejecting your application, then they will not be requesting remedical or certificate of criminal record. Also, I believe someone said that you will likely get an interview request before they reject your application.

Thank you htquach :)
Yeah its real a relief to hear from singapore vo coz I never gotten any email from them bfore not even aor2.

Best of luck guys and may all of us get to live with our loved ones soon.

kalz,

Good luck and I hope that the correspondence is what we think it is!!!

Hey Kalz!

That's good to hear! Also, I am fairly certain that an interview request will happen before they deny it(according to some folks from church who had gone through this process), so it's looking like a good sign. Im so happy you got some sort of correspondence from SVO, things had quietened down a bit, or so it seemed haha. Keep us updated of any changes on ECAS, best of luck to you two!
