interview was waived. I got the GCMS note and it says the interview was waived because the visa officer was satisfied after reviewing my additional docs (travel doc, pic, etc). Even though they asked us not to submit any more paper I did it anyway since there was not update after 16 months since I got the first interview letter. I was refused for TRV twice. you never know what will work for you.

Hey STSM
HOw did you submit additional documents? Did you email them or sent physical documents by Mail? Plz let me know. My wife is in interview list and got the letter in June. I sent additional docs by email (visiting pic, ticket, pics, phone record etc) week after I sent those the status changed to IN PROCESS in October 2nd but since then no change. Thanks

I sent it via mail. however, it takes time to get nay update since it goes to IN PROCESS. I think you can request for GCMS note which will give you the details of what has been done on their side.

My wife picked up her Passport with visa stamped today. Arriving Toronto on Dec 26th.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between GCMS notes and case specific inquiry? I know GCMS notes contain many pages with codes and notes on the application status. What about case specific inquiry reply? Thanks in advance.

Application date for my husband and I was Jan 2014, emailed end of March 2015 that my husband was put on 24mths wait time for interview.

You can try your local MP but i don't think you'll have much luck. My husband an I have written to Trudeau asking for Humanitarian Aid due to our circumstance, no reply. We've tried petitioning Humanitarian Organizations/Groups to write supporting letters we can send to CIC and all replied they are unable to help. Our last attempt was to send an email to CIC in Singapore for Emergency Situation and got absolutely no reply within the 10 business days, since it states on there that they won't reply if your application is still within normal processing time. From my perspective and understanding through my research, anybody on the interview list are sitting ducks until CIC contacts the interviewee. We are now considering hiring an EXPENSIVE immigration lawyer who will have access to Singapore's notes on out file. The lawyer was kind enough to inform me, for free, that they only send Interviewers from Singapore at certain times during the year, and they wouldn't be sending any this late, so close to the new year.

Good luck with your efforts with contacting your local MP. I hope you can get somewhere. :)

Thank you for your reply. The Freedom of Information Act is where i am persuing to get info from my Singapore file. Your situation, should be coming to an end soon,i hope.I was also, going to contact Justin Trudeau. So frustrating for us people, who just want our loved ones with us.

I wasn't even aware I could do that :o. Saves me from paying an expensive Immigration lawyer for something I can do for $5. Thanx for the tip.

Congratulation Dear Sham007. How long it took her to get it done from Singapore office?

Yes it was 14mths :( just to be put on the interview list because they requested additional documents from us which took 2mths for us to get together. And now i've been informed by my lawyer, who knows ppl in immigration, that 24mths wait no longer UNOFFICIALLY applies b/c of the refugees that are coming in....employees from those departments are being transferred to process all the refugees. Not sure if this affects Singapore but my lawyer told me it will affect all other applications. They're all being put on the back burner. The Minister of Immigration has already been called out on this by the opposition but had denied that it is happening. Thus my husband's interview could be another 3yrs from NOW.

Side note, my lawyer also informed me that The Freedom of Informations Act is only helpful for the notes AFTER an interview has be conducted and there was a denial, everything else will just be what we sent in with our application.
