Ohhhh, my word!

Just got the text that the passport is in Bangkok. Sent the message at 4:30 on a Friday... the office closed at 5.... and Monday is a holiday.... Ohhhhhh. Here come the longest 3 days ever!

So nervous to open that envelope, but just can't wait to get it in our hands.

I suppose since we have waited 30 odd months 3 odd days should feel like peanuts....

Ahhhhhhhh!

Not one step was easy for you this entire process... Why should it change now???? :P :P :P. congrats for sure though. 930 days!!!

Is this the "usual" timeline? My wife is from Thailand and she's been reading Thai forums and people who applied in last September are starting to get visas.

If you could post when you applied and file transfer date please? Hard to help you without your timeline. My wife is also from Thailand, but I have a feeling you applied earlier.

Also, i was wondering personally if it worked for you two with applying for trv after marriage?

Yes you are right. we applied 1st week of Dec, 2013 and our case went IN Process in last week of July 2014.

Hi Koifish76,

Her PR application was received on January 28, 2014. She tried to visit me 3 times with a TRV before marriage and 1 time after and they all got declined.

From what I have read it takes about 3 months to get visa after it switched to "in process". You are more than half-way done, congrats! According to your timeline, if everything goes well our application should switch to "in process" at the end of this month. That's good news :)

I see. So frustrating. We applied for a b2 visit visa to the usa for christmas 2013, at my parents home in Florida, was rejected of course. She was in tears when the officer rejected her. She is nearly 4 months pregnant now, so we have decided for her to keep her job in Thailand and wait out this process apart. Also, I worry about her being alone here in January, giving birth, in the cold, without her family to help us. I will be going back (6th) time in January to be there for our first child born. We may apply trv if application is yet in process next March. Hopefully you will be with your wife in Canada before this Christmas ;)

Nice! There are several others as well. I was wondering, you have to notify cic of an address change? So, if you are residing in Canada on TRV, why is it necessary to submit passport to Singapore? Can't this be done in Canada, shortening the time process? Maybe I am missing something here?

May help people waiting for passports. PP was sent via VAC on 14 June. The following is from tracking. Check yours.

"Your Decision has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office, Singapore on 30/07/2014 to the Canada Visa Application Centre DHAKA . To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

So I can expect to get my wife's pp Sunday or Monday (3/4 Aug) :).

Maybe he/she applied for PR before getting his/her TRV. Just a guess tho :P

Hahaha. That last comment made me laugh more than it should have...

So, two got their passport pick up requests today (after their long wait). Hopefully two more tomorrow, which is a good week for this office I think.

And there it is... Two more today! Hopefully the next batch will come early next week for those waiting still 8)

Has anyone figured out the time from decision made to passport dispatched.

Between 10 to 20 days. Of course there are others outside this timeframe. But the norm is 10-20.
