Hello Forum, I am applying sponsorship application for my wife. I have a question about police clearance. My wife had her passport before we got married. So my name is obviously not present in her passport. Now when she goes to request for the police clearance, it does not show my name either in the police clearance as it was based on the passport.
My question is if the police clearance certificate does not have my name in it, is it still ok?

Thanks in advance

Hi Pirate of which country ?

It is not a problem for Canadian VO as they understand it.

Officials of the countries where we were born they do not try to understand this without bribe.

In the application form there is column to state your wife's previous name. So don't worry.

Shaw.

Hello All,
Wonder if I can get advice from the experienced visitors on this forum. My wife sent her passport on the 9th of July to the Singapore Office from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It reached there on the 10th. How long can we expect to wait till it is returned?
Any help is much appreciated.
Best Regards,

Congrats!!That was super fast! As far I remember, you applied on last March...

Going back to your query, based on recent timeline, it could take up to max. 3 months but who knows!

Btw, I got my first GCMS notes today and got the initial review from SVO dated on last month.

It says: "possibly b.f. RECOMMEND WAV." and outstanding nikah namah.

It's kinda weird: Nikah nama was not required...But thanks to Almighty, at least I've known about the outstanding item.

Hi DrmBig,
Thanks for your reply. The reason is this: My wife was studying in the US when we applied. So they sent our file to Ottawa, not Singapore. Thankfully it got processed quickly. 3 months eh. VFS says 1 month. Guess I can't complain. I acknowledge we are lucky to be in this situation!

3 months sounds like a legitimate guess. It used to be 1 month. But it is Singapore visa office. Slowest of them all.

I believe they have printed your visa. It will be shipped back to you with in 2-3 weeks.
