Don't worry my friends, SVO VOs are now free from issuing visa to the students in May and they are tired of holding your PPs.

They will surely return your pps soon i.e withing 1/2 weeks (hopefully).

My posting on May 2

Why did you wait so long to send the passport

MY wife was supposed to send her PP on March 6th but was delayed with CIC and IOM system updates. After 2 weeks of waiting for IOM to get their act together, we found out that they are no longer providing the service of sending PPs to Singapore. As a results, my wife used DHL to send her PP instead.

Sure, that's why we're here: to share during this journey..

Hi DrmBig,
Just wanted to touch base and ask if there is any progress. There is None from my end. Dont know why it seems to be taking time for a simple transfer of file to SVO office. Let me know when possible.

I re read the email my wife got when Singapore requested her passport. It says please allow 28 days to process. I'm hoping the next few days! This is so hard on the mind :(

When did you send your passport? If I may ask so I can estimate if mine will be back soon?

Hi Sammikens, I submitted my passport on the 6th of March.

Thanks guys for your support and congratulatory notes. SVO seems to be kicking into high gear and sending the passports by batches. Quite sure more good news will come soon for the rest of you...

*crossing my fingers* :)

Btw, you said they issued your COPR on 29th April, but yet you only got it yesterday on 5th May, which means that it took 6 long days for the package to reach you. Is that normal for registered mail? I suppose it's normal if you live in North America or Europe, but a little too long if you're in Asia (?)

In what country do you live?

I live in Singapore, it was indicated 29th Apr on the COPR but somehow I only got it yesterday when the postman delivered it personally. It takes 2 days for the registered mail service here for local mails. My guess is they probably sent mine along with a batch of COPR that were issued on the 29th. So those of you who have indicated that SVO send your pp back to you via registered mail, keep a look out in your mail box. Who knows yours might have been issued on the same day as mine. I've attached the timeline for the Singapore Postal service.

I just checked ECAS....Decision Made! :D

Congrats Kbean!

Did you guys get your medical done before the request? My wife's medical is about to expires in a month, is there any written rules that you can not go ahead and get your medical test done before CIC issue the medical request? This paper work delay is really holding back our lives. >:( Just trying to get ahead of the ball game.

Vietnam2013, I think they will ask your wife to do a remed. The landing has to be done before the medical expires. For cases that very close to expiry, I have seen cases where they issue the visa and the applicant has to land within a week or 2. It might be pretty right for them to request for passport, stamp it etc within the one month timeframe. Think it might be a good idea to write to them and inform them that the Medicals are expiring and ask if there is a need to do a remed. Probably that will bring your file to their attention
