Congrats..I hope you get your passport soon.

My wife's passport was sent through the Dhaka VFS and was received by Singapore on March 27. We are still waiting. I guess its taking more than 4-5 weeks.

Do you mind to share your timeline Seeekingtobeunited? I applied for my wife last year. I just want to get the idea how long it takes for a Bangladeshi spouse. Thanks.

Anybody knows how long it takes to get passport back

@canyon congrats!!!

@thanh yes my wife is from Vietnam. Singapore recieved her passport feb 9. When did you submit yours?

Hey spaceley, my wife's from Vietnam too.

Your timeline is relatively fast, August 2013 - app sent, and now you got passport request. What is your relationship background, any red flags?

Hi people,

CIC Singapore just sent me a letter Headlined -Case Status

in that letter its written that.

-Y- you are on our interview list our next contact with you will be to advise you the time and date. Please wait to hear from us.

-Y- please be advised applications which require interview fall outside normal processing standards. The current queue for an interview is approximately 25 months. While you application is awaiting interview we will not accept respond to,or attach your file any correspondence, except: change of address or contact information, including change of email address;change of immigration representative;change of martial status of family composition; request for withdrawal of your application.

Also they sent the evidence that we submitted and told me to bring those with me in the interview.

So its a sure interview isn't it?
anyone here with an interview experience can help me here? I received the letter today which was sent on may 21th. Thanks in advance.

Oh wow, another Bangladeshi with a 2 year interview wait, this is crazy. Even more ridiculous than the wait time is the fact that the wait time doesn't count towards the total processing time of the application.

Yes it's a sure interview unfortunately, and it's going to be a long wait. Order GCMS notes and find out what are the specific reasons for the interview and work on addressing them.

Hey there...

I'm pretty shocked that the interview queue duration is up to 25 months! Seems to keep increasing >_<.

But hang in there alright...? If your relationship is genuine (which I am sure it is), there should be nothing to worry about.

Here's an example of a Bangladeshi who had to attend an interview (which she passed successfully):

And for your reference, here are some sample interview questions:

You can search this forum, as some people have posted different variants of questions. It's better to practise when you're pretty near to the interview date though... (if done now, you might forget the answers later anyway :D )

Good luck!

Any passport updates?

Did you or your spouse from Canada provide them with enough evidence to prove your relationship? Examples include photos, call logs (between you and your spouse), financial support docs such as western union and/or bank transfers, copy of air tickets, boarding passes, hotel receipts etc if you went on your honeymoon?
When officers do not find enough proof of a relationship, we are likely to face an interview.
This seems you got a letter for the interview within 5 to 6 months of your application. Try to remember if you or your spouse gave enough proof of relationship.
If I were you, I would send them now all the proofs of our relationship. This might give the officer a thought of waving your interview.

Not from my end.

By the way, as we're approaching the high season, airfares of Asia to Canada flights are getting more and more expensive... *frustrated sigh*
