Heya Rosindo! Before your husband called and was approved, did you have a UCI and an account on ecas? Cdnmom, who has been very helpful, suggested that if my wife is already on ecas and has a UCI, it means that I have already been approved as a sponsor, and other threads seem to indicate that too, but I am not 100% sure, so I'm a bit worried. My family has tried to call the CIC line on my behalf but has had trouble and they make it clear that they do not want overseas calls. I'll try to ask them to call again though.

Anyway, best of luck to you and hope the weather is nice where you are. Here in Bali it has been raining all day.
Hi Cangguru

If your wife has a UCI and can log into ECAS... and it indicates when they received your wife's file as well as medical results have been received... you have been approved as a sponsor

You may have received an email from them back in Dec or January that went into your junk email...
We received an email stating they rec'd our application and then a second email when the sponsor was approved
We then received an email from SVO advising they had received our file and this is where we got the applicants UCI

It is weird that you didn't receive anything from them... but I think you are ok :)

Hi Cangguru,

I'm also Indonesian sponsored by my husband. We also had the similar problem, applied since Nov '12, I received email from CIC that they have received my application on December 2012. No other info since. We kept waiting and checked e-cas every week, until September 10th, 2013, when my husband made a call to CIC call centre. It took about 20 minutes until somebody finally answer. Turns out they hadn't touch my husband application as a sponsor. Less than 24 hour after the call, my husband received an email from CIC with UCI and Application number stating that he is eligible to sponsor me. After that, our fate is in Singapore VO.
You could try the same thing as my husband did, phone the CIC call centre. I don't know if the same phone number works for Canadian overseas but you probably ask somebody in Canada to represent you.
Hi Rosindo

I am sorry to hear that your application sat in stage 1 for 10 months :(
Hopefully they will fast track you now that it is in Singapore....

ecas only changes into process when interview is waived..

Hi Diyabrar,

Not that I doubt your information...LOL
but how do you know that ECAS only changes into "in process" if/when the interview is waived??

That would be such a reassurance :)

Thanks... I just wouldn't want to count my chickens before they hatch...LOL
I agree with your logic... I can't see ECAS going in process if an interview was required :)

Here's to some speedy processing now that we are in process

diyabrar...did u go to your MP or asked alot of questions to Singapore embassy?? I was told that if you go to your MP and keep asking your status to Singapore office, then your file is further delayed more than usual? Can you confirm what you might have done differently to have your file take so long to start processing? or is it just bad luck to get into the wrong VO's hand?

Thanks.

PS. congrats. it took a long time but at lest your ecast did change, was beginning to get worried there...happy for u!

Lol where do guys hear all these stuff from..? dont believe what you hear always.....MP's and Lawyers have no right/say in immigration system...So when people say I should have applied through a lawyer makes me laugh as much as when i hear when they go to an MP to ask for application status...

Lawyers can only fill in your application and help u submit it..that it...
When you ask a question to MP they basically call Montreal CIC and gets info from GCMS/CAIPS notes to give people info..they never call Visa office...Cause they are not allowed to...That is what the Immigration ACT of canada indicates..

So to answer you question i have never gone to an MP. Cause i know they are of no use..I just applied for GCMS notes......the reason for my delay was my visa officer was really slow..Any applicant under that visa officer had to wait 20 months atleast before their file went in process.

To share some info, one of my friend who is July 2011 applicant. After one year since CSQ, they got a Letter for Interview Queue, then they also returned their documents.

SVO sent them email on Oct 29 for an Interview on Nov 12, 2013. His wife passed an interview and their Ecas is chnaged to "started processing in Nov 12, 2013".

Guess this is how the steps if an interview required.

Lastly, Recommend passed on GCMS notes :)

I applied GCMS on Sep, 2012. On page 7, under Eligibility, Status: Recommend passed. The last page, in the note, there is Possibily b.f. Recommend Wav.

I dont understand what does it mean "possibly b.f"? Anyone have the same note with me?
