Hi, Photo specification should be the same as canadian immigration photo specification (Not same as BD standard passport size photo). I already clarified about that. Yes, you are right, finished size should be 35mm x 45 mm.
Canadian Immigration photo specification is as below:

The photos must:

• show a full front view of the person's head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;

• Have a plain white background;

• be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera.

The photos must:

· measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown;

· have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

You can get the photo specification through cic website. print out the pdf and take with you and show the specification to the photographer.

Hi Sama2012,

Are you sure about the Photo? The instruction from Singapore says to send 4 Passport sized photo only. It does not provide any specifications. Note that when the application was submitted originally to Mississauga (I think it was 8 photos of the Applicant) and then for re-medical their was photo specification instruction ( the size as you mention in your post). But in their Passport request, it just says send 4 Passport sized photos without any reference to specifications.

I spoke with my husband and he mentioned that. He talked with his friend and his friend's lawyer mentioned that all permanent residency photo size are same which is 35mm x 45 mm. That's I know.
Instruction mentioned, 4 recent passport photos (taken within last 3 months) of yourself and your dependants (see attached instructions). But there is no instruction in my documents. If you have please let me know.

OK I will try to find out about this. If any other member have any idea about this (which size photo to send with Passport request) then please share.

By the way, when do you plan to send the Passport? Didn't the instruction stated to send the passport after 6 weeks from re-medical date?

Hi sama2012: By the way, there is NO instruction or specification mentioned in the letter/document although it said (see attached instruction) but there is none. In addition, every country has their own size of photo specification for passports. It is NOT universal. Like Canadian Passport photo and PR Card photo is NOT the same. Bangladeshi passport photo size is different. But if you apply for renewal of passport or NRV in Bangladesh embassy their photo specification is also different than in Bangladesh itself. Baangladesh embassy would instruct the size 40 x 50 mm. This is why I got confused.

Anyway, will be waiting for updates from other members too.

Hi sama2012: once again, I checked the Singapore Guide for sponsorship application. It is also mentioned as follows:

Appendix B
Photo Specifications
Notes to the applicant
TAKE THIS WITH YOU TO THE PHOTOGRAPHER
• Immigration photos are not the same as passport photos.
• Make sure that you provide the correct number of photos specified in this guide.

What would you say now. Immigration photos are 35 x 45 mm that we submitted with application! Right ?

Hi Goodman36, I did not get the passport request in the instruction. I think you are only person who got the passport request after 6 weeks from re-med in the instruction.

Hi sama2012: Sometimes lawyer and consultants are NOT correct. They are over confident in many times. Why I am saying this because the instruction mentioned "4 recent passport photos".

If we read the Singapore Guide then it contradicts the instruction in the letter. Right ?

again, Appendix B
Photo Specifications
Notes to the applicant

I think this requested photos are for our PR card. This passport size photo does not mean for our passport. Please do not compare with other photo size like NVR. May be I am wrong. Lets see reply from other Members. May be Shiny was the perfect person to ask the question. But she is not regular come to the forum.

Yes, they confused with the wording " 4 recent passport photos"

They could have just said "4 recent photos" of XXXXXXXXXX sized. Trivial matter could be very bothering though.

Can we just send 2 sets of photos for them to choose? in that case, it will save time to resend it if you did wrong the first time... just a thought.

Hi kst, My husband's friend talk to his lawyer and confirmed my husband that we need to send photo according to appendix B immigration photo specification which is 35cm x 45cm. He mentioned that just sometimes different Canadian embassies from different countries called them ‘passport’ photos. Its up to you that you can send 2 sets of photos. I will send only 1 set of photos (4 copies) according to Appendix B which size is 35cm x 45cm.
by the way can you post your timeline please.

Hi, about the picture taken date, how the embassy will know the picture is older than 3 months or not? Does studio give a stamp with picture taken date? I do not know any studio will give the stamp with picture date in back or not? little confused.

According to instruction, should I give the name and Date of birth bach of just one picture or all of them?

I never send any additional documents to SVO. What will be the FROM address in the front page of the courrier service? Should I give my file number in the front page? Otherwise how SVO will know this is my package without any file number or anything else? Please let me know.
