oh i thought of one more thing. they have asked us to provide proof, or a letter of explanation for our plans to move back to Canada together. any thoughts on what would be good to include? we have started looking for jobs, we could book a ticket, but of course this is a bit risky not knowing how long it's going to take. we are absolutely moving back to Canada asap....but as for actually providing concrete proof...it's a bit difficult.
Thanks in advance.

next day ? ru sure ?

Yes, my friend just got his PPR for his wife. When they received the letter of "passport request", they went directly to the CHC-Singapore and they got her visa issued the very next day.

hi
We received an envelope this morning from the Singapore office and inside was all of our "relationship evidence"..you know what i mean, all our pictures, phone bills, copies of emails and all the kind of thing we submitted to them. no letter from them or any kind of correspondence was included. Has anyone else got this?

thanks and good luck to those who received positive news lately!!!

Hi White Rock - congrats, this is generally good news. Based on what I've seen, and our own experience, this normally means that they have assessed your relationship as genuine and no longer require the evidence.

Am thinking about emailing SG if no ppr request by first march.I need to know what in the world they are waiting for to request passport. ;D

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I just get my passport request last week and E-CAS has shown "in process". They sent me the instruction on submitting passport, request 4 passport photographs and police certificate request. However they did not send me the photo size requirement, can anyone advise which size should I take?

My timeline so far:
1 Sept 2012 - Submitted application
7 Sept 2012 - Application received
19 Oct 2012 - Sponsorship approved
25 Oct 2012 - VO Singapore received
14 Feb 2013 - Passport Request (E-CAS "in process")

Notes to the photographer
The photos must:
 show a full front view of the person’s head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;
 have a plain white background;
 be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera.
The photos must:
 measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown;
 have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

Thanks alibaba.

Was confused as the letter mentioned 4 passport-sized photos, when I browsed CIC website there are 2 specifications:
a. Canada passport size 50 X 70mm
b. Immigration photo size 35 X 45mm (it stated that immigration size is not the same as passport photo size)

Someone at this forum also posted that it is the immigration size at the beginning of the thread..

Hi Smirky, may I ask how you got informed for the ppr? by email? mail? or telephone? And what country is the applicant from? Thank You.

For sure you receive a letter with it. Better look. If your file is not IN PROCESS yet mean either they want more evidence or more proof, or some other supporting documents once they received they will decide either PPR request or Interview. If those documents could not satisfy of relationship could be Interview hope not. If they are satisfy then PPR sure.

And if file IN PROCESS while you received those document mean you have PPR letter included or maybe in e-mail.

This is way i saw it works for Singapore if changed i do not know.
Best of luck.

my last email they repaly this

Dear Sir / Madam
Completion of a medical examination is not a guarantee that a permanent resident visa will be issued.

There is a waiting period which varies from case to case for every medical results. We do not want to hold on to any applicant's passport which may not be required should the medical examination fails.

Please be advised that the status of your application has not changed since our last reply to you.

Rest assured that the visa office in Singapore will be in contact with you if further information is required.
Please also note that repeated status enquiries can contribute to delays in the processing of a file as the officer has to take time away from processing in order to respond to the request(s).
