I think your interview will be waived given the fact everyone in queue has not started for background check.

It should not take very long at all if PA hasn't served in the military or held gov positions and has no travel history.

What does "In progress" mean?

I called CIC today but was told they dont answer to outland applicants!! Has anyone contacted CIC before here?

Any idea, on average how long does it take generally to complete background check. PA didn't live any other country othar than country of Citizenship/Residence.

We got the same update like yours and wondering if it actually a good news or how long it takes to PPR...

i can't link my applications .so i can't see my file in detail.
but take some guessing point from april applicants. and guess that they working March &April appicants..

Check the number of applicants on the file, you have to include sponsor and sponsored (2) if there is no child. Also try different option with your name and spouse name to see if it helps.

It is only 5 months have been passed. Please be patient. It took us 1 year 7 days to get the passport back with visa and COPR. We were asked for extra documents and some explanation even though I followed the document checklist word for word. I had to take a leave of absence of 4.5 months to stay with my wife. They have a calendar and time frame for each file. Please order a GCMS notes if you get interview letter (hopefully not). Prepare for the interview if needed.

I wish you a happy reunited with your spouse ASAP.

My husband went for interview yesterday. Before the interview, the officer asked my husband to give him the new proof of relationship. After 15 minutes for review, he called my husband in. It took an hour and he was asked many many questions like:
- How do you meet each other?
- Asking about my family info (sister, brother, parents...)
- Asking about my life in Canada (my car, my job, my hobbies...)
- Why do we marry?
- Reasons why my husband got rejections twice for study visa in the past
- ...

At the end of interview, the officer said that my husband's medical exam result will be expired in December 2016, so we will get the final decision before or in December...

Freaking Unbelievable. Just got PPR. 2/3 days ago, background was just changed to In Progress
Further got GCMS notes on Sep 11th which showed nothing except basic info updated/AOR sent.

Any other March/April applicant got PPR ??

I wasn't expecting that sooner, given the fact that, few Jan/Feb applicants are in Interview queue, don't know how many applicants got PPR, assuming only few (SVO)

MYCIC status hasn't been changed though.

Depends on case. I got PPR straight-forward in 5 Months
