Thank you.
Yes first marriage for both, more than 200 people joined the ceremony(photo proof given) , the good thing is they accepted me but couldn't join the event as the event was in our homecountry they have a school going child. They provided a explanation signed letter for that. Only thing that could be the reason behind interview is a past "Canadian student visa refusal" in 2010 before marriage.
By the way can you tell me how to check whether there is a redflag or not in the GCMS? and possibly how long it can take to complete the whole process.
If there was any reason for your interview, I highly doubt that it's the student visa refusal. The most common reasons for having to attend an interview are:
- huge age difference (but yours isn't huge)
- different religious and ethnic backgrounds (but you're both from Bangladesh)
- short courtship before marriage (but you guys dated for a long time)
- something out of the norm. For example, if in your culture normally people have a big wedding but you didn't, then it could cause a suspicion. But you did have a big wedding just like in any other south Asian countries.
- not enough amount of relationship and communication proofs (but you provided plenty)
So I really don't understand why the need for an interview. I just hope they'll just eventually waive it.
If there are red flags, usually there should be a note in the GCMS. But it doesn't appear to have any, so I can't say what caused them to recommend an interview...
How long it takes to complete the whole process: I really can't answer as it varies. But in general, the timeline of those that require to attend an interview is as follows:
Application submission till interview notification = 1 year or a bit more.
Interview notification till the actual interview = roughly 1 year.
Total time = roughly 2 years, give or take a few months.
Here's an example of a Bangladeshi who had to attend an interview:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/profiles/Shiny88-u107224.html
As you can see, she submitted her application in February 2011. Her visa was issued in May 2013. So her whole process from start to finish took about 2 years and 3 months. Assuming your timeline will be the same as hers (well, let's round it down to 2 years), then if you pass the interview, you should get the visa sometime around October 2015.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves here...let's just stay positive and hope that you won't have to attend the interview. Afterall you haven't got the interview invitation, so it's possible that they wrote "recommend interview" by mistake...
