It is indeed the hottest times in Northern Hemisphere and Bangladesh, India, Singapore, Malaysia facing the heat waves at this time of the year when the sun burns absolutely straight over these countries and life is miserable for people not used to work outside or living without Air coolers. Moreover, there are shortage of power in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan where even in cities people hardly get power over 8 hours a day. People having access to Diesel/Gas generators can run their fans and Air coolers but generators too cannot run for hours as they generate tremendous heat.
I have inquired with Singapore, Turkish, Cathay, Emirates, Etihad. Among them, Turkish Airlines's all seats are booked until September 2012 and as they offer the cheapest air fare, they cannot facilitate any seat or change at this time. You better had talked to the GSA ( General Sales Agent ) of Turkish if they could arrange a seat for you at a later date coz they are the one who holds the final authority to reshuffle the seat plan. Emirates/Cathay wouldnt charge that much but why would they, as they already charge at least $300-400 more per ticket than Turkish does. Share your experience with Turkish's flights/its in flight entertainment, meal and how was Istanbul? it was indeed a long long flight from Turkey to Toronto !
