Singapore does not want original marriage certificate. They need only notarize copy of marriage certificate. I keep my original marriage and nikahanama to my wife because some time Dhaka vo ask for original copy some time at the interview some time to pickup passport with COPR . They do not ask always but could be. Here i keep with me one photocopy original one in Bangladesh.

@Shiny88 you better keep your original marriage certificate to your husband anytime it may need. could be interview, pickup passport, trv application time.

OMG your time line scare me now. Did they never ask you to do re medical? Why they take so much to process and complete application?
6 months of processing look like too long.

oh yes sorry, she was requested to do the re medical in late July 2011, I am guessing its because my wife's first medical had expired in March 2011. I do not know why it took so long. The messed up part was that from Oct 2010 - June 2011 they just kept the application on the desk or something. Only until late June is when they started to process the application for PR.

16 months so far eh? Did your wife have to do an interview or did she receive an interview letter?

I sponsored my wife from Cambodia in Feb 2011 and in Nov 2011 we received a letter sayng she is on the interview queue. :(

It does sound like you two are close.

My wife was never sent and interview letter or had to do an interview. My friend's wife had an interview a few months ago. It took them 4-5months to get the actual date for the interview after getting a letter saying she was on the interview queue. She was from Cambodia also.

When did you see medical result received?
Oct 2010- June 2011 file does not keep on desk they do initial review then do eligible check if all positive then goes for In Process in mean time they do background and criminality check. To complete your process takes so much time now it's scare me i do not now how long will take for mine to receive PPR.

I have mine right now Shiny but I will be bringing the original over to my wife next time I go to see her. I am pretty sure the applicant should have it as we, as sponsors, are pretty well done with our stuff.

ah okkie, but i guess its not possible for the applicant and the sponsored person have the certificate lol.i guess its more important for the sponsored person to have it.because they are the one to show it to prove the relation n stuff. I will send it to my husband and keep a copy with me, it might be useful for the interview also to travel later. Am also going to see my hubby hopefully in May, can't wait :D i really hope we get the interview later by the end of next month!!lets hope..

They never confirmed to us if they received my wife's medical that she took in late July 2011. In the letter she received it said to not contact them about it. It also stated that it can take up to 3 months and longer in some cases. I got scared after 3 months and not hearing from them so I emailed them in Dec 2011 but they never replied to my email. It was then quiet again until this last letter she received to send in her passport last week. Yes the process so far is about 16 months and continuing. Its a long long time but just hang in there. Everything will end up working out.
