Hi,
I had lived in Singapore for few years prior coming to Canada. In the process of my Permanent Residency application CIC has sent me an email asking for Singapore Police clearance. I have already prepared all the documents required with the application except the bank draft. According to singapore police force website,
"Application sent by post (from overseas) must be accompanied by a bank draft made payable to ‘Head Criminal Records CID' through a financial institution based in Singapore. The bank draft shall have a representative bank in Singapore for clearance."

I found out that CIBC and Scotiabank have branches in Singapore. Can I send the bank draft thru one of those banks?

Has anybody applied for Singapore Police Clearance from Canada? What banks you guys used? Let me know it'd be a great help.

This is how I got this done: I asked a friend of mine who is living in Singapore to get a bank draft for me (from a sg bank). Also I sent all the documents and instructions to post the package to Singapore Police. Officers requested me some additional docs thru email. And I requested the application status thru email. The officers were helpful providing the information. This is the only way I know on how to get this done without going to Singapore..

There was no need to go thru that hassle, however good to have more than 1 way of doing things ;)

One can walk into almost any Canadian bank in Canada and request for pay order in singapore dollars. That is acceptable.
