SIN number

Hey,

I would like to know after how many months or weeks an international student can apply for Sin number??
and what are the requirements for it?

If you find a job on campus, you can apply for SIN provided you bring your employer-employee contract to a Canada Services location. They will issue you a SIN number right there but the actual card will come in mail within a couple of weeks. If you want to work off campus you have to wait for at least 6 months after you started you studies and then apply for off-campus work permit. Once you have your off-campus work permit you can apply for SIN.
