SIN for study permit

I have applied for my study permit and am aware it comes with a work permit to be able to work up to 20 hours per week.
I currently have a SIN which I got with my IEC as I was working, so does this SIN expire when my IEC does? My IEC will change to a study visa before the IEC expires.

Do I have to reapply for a SIN in order to carry on working?

You do need to get new SIN, Once you receive your new documents, take them to service canada and they will renew it, your number will remain same but expiry date will be changed.
