I got into Simon Fraser University for MASc Mechatronics (fall 2016). Applied for visa on 30th March and yet pending for update. Is there anyone else applied and got status update?

Yup they are
According to there website:
You should expect a decision to be made within two-three months after the application deadline. Typically, we send out rejection letters on May 1 following the February 1 deadline for fall admissions

Did you tried to contact faculty of graduate studies for application status? If it is MASc why don't you drop a mail to professor whom you have talked to already. I guess MASc is all about impressing profs, if you can, admission is just a formality.
