Signature request on express post while sending passport

Hi All,

Passport was requested to mail at:

Canada Post:
CPP – Ottawa
PO Box 9780
Ottawa ON K1G 4B9

Courier:
CPP – Ottawa
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON K1A 1L1

Can we request a signarue upon receiving if i use canada post while sending passport. reason being i could see PO Box 9780 if i use canada post. If it is post box, my understading is that no one will be available to receive the item. correct me if i am wrong.

If not can i do courier in canada post. so that i would have confirmationt hat one has reveiced my item.

For sure, i will req a signature request for receving passport to my home.

Plss suggest..

If you asked for Xpresspost envelope you can ask for signature at delivery!
I did same and could see the signature upon delivery!

You are correct. No one will receive it in PO box and they will not deliver it since it needs signature. Someone from CPP-O office will have to go down to the post office to sign and collect the document. They do it almost everyday as they get many such applications.

That will be a better choice! Don't get confused with the word courier, it simply means if you are sending through a mode which requires signature. So you are good to go with this one.

The person who helped me in canada post office said I have to use this address
"CPP – Ottawa
PO Box 9780
Ottawa ON K1G 4B9"
even it was xpresspost envelope.
Couriers are fedex, DHL and such companies... anything going through canada post used PO Box address!

Just confirm with people in post office, show them the instruction! They are usually very helpful!

I would say that would be totally fine as it's regular mail vs signed mail thing.

I sent my passport to the P.O BOX indicated with signature required, and my package got picked up and signed just fine.

What happens is CPP-O is a big organization and they deal with Canada Post on a daily basis lot of times. So to pickup the mail, a truck comes to pick up the mail that belongs to CPP-O and delivers it to them, each to the corresponding P.O BOX indicated.

Do not send it via courier if you are in Canada! Send it via Xpress Post, it will be signed and everything will go smoothly.
