My sister lives in u.s but she has done her landing already.i went to a lawyer he said that you can claim points if she has done landing.but now cic is asking for proof of residence of my sister.what should i do? I am in a dilema .she is planning to move soon.

Your solicitor is a lier they just wants their money that’s it . Check the documents list here below without these you can’t claim any points for siblings. Her PR card or citizenship of Canada proof is mandatory.
1. Colored Copy of PR card , Or citizenship
2. Current proof of residence in Canada, Example copy of any one of these, Health Card or Driving License or Bank/Credit card Statement, lease/rental agreement etc.. must have current date.
3. Notarized declaration from you with should declare all of following:
- Your name, passport number & Express Entry file number
- Details about , how you are related to Canadian relative and proof.
- That your relative is residing in Canada and will have intention to continue to do so, until final decision of your application.

Thank you for your kind offer to help. He moved to Canada about 9 years ago but I'm not sure if he is willing to get out of his way to help us out and we don't really expect him to do so. However, he has got a letter of tenancy confirmation which seems to solve the problem. I have sent a letter to CIC explaining the situation and providing our birth certificates along with the above-mentioned letter, the copy of his Canadian passport, citizenship document and internet bill which contains his address. Do you think that's enough?

well i dont know if that's enough because it really depends on the verification officer. If they are looking for tax returns, that is easily available. All he has to do is sign in to his CRA account and download from there. Even if he is out of job now, he would have definitely filed tax return for 2018 (as he was working then and that's the law).
If he doesnot have a CRA account, he can call CRA and they would send a copy of his tax assessment to him. I dont think it would take him more than maybe 15 mins of effort to do all this.

I have a question, I searched the forum for an answer, but didn't find this, hope that someone with this experience or knowledge can help

I am going for standard Express Entry draw, and I have a brother who is living in Vancouver. Would it be strange or a problem if I mention in my application that I would go to Toronto?
The thing is that I like Toronto more and I would like to live there, but since I get 15 points for my brother living in Vancouver, is it a problem for application that I want to live in a different province?
Is there a chance that they see that as strange and refuse my application or deny me 15 points for it? Or is that seen as normal thing in Canada? I am worried that those 15 points are based on family reunion or something and living in different parts of Canada is not exactly reunion... let me know your thoughts?!

Hi! I am submitting my express entry application today and have 2 questions:
1. My brother has been living in Canada for more than 9 years now and is a PR holder since 2016.
I have claimed points for sibling living in Canada and I am submitting his bank statements for proof of residency. However he is traveling to India next month for 2 months vacation until December 1st week (He hasn't visited india from past 7 years). His lease is ending next month but he would still have his bank accounts and car payments active. He is planning to move into new apartment in December when he returns back.
Will there be a problem with this scenario?

2. Also My spouse already has PR card from 2017. He is with me in India currently and is planning to move to Canada in couple of months. In my documents checklist system is asking for his PCC as well (I am primary applicant EE entry and his is non accompanying spouse). I have read in some threads that system is still no tailored to process such applications hence a copy of his PR and LOE is what I need to apply. Can someone help me here?

I don't think you can claim points in such case. CIC will ask for residency proof, so she has to be currently residing in Canada for you to claim points.

Hi Friends, Please I need your advice on this. I recently got a provincial nomination and then an ITA.
In my EE profile, I initially indicated I have a cousin in Ontario but my nomination came from Nova Scotia.
Now I am submitting my file for permanent residence and my details were automatically transferred to my file.
At the end of filing the forms, the system requested I submit proof of relationship.
Please I want your opinion on whether I should now state that I don't have a relation since getting supporting document from the person may inconvenience him and my provincial nomination already gave me the points I need.
Would this become misrepresentation?
