If people land at the end of 2014 say Dec 31, should they file tax in 2015 for the income of 2014 or they just need to file first tax in 2016?

If you're in Canada on 31 Dec, you'll have to file a tax return. You will probably not owe any tax, but your life will be much easier with a tax return submitted to CRA. Trust me on this one.

If you want to avoid filing a tax return for now, land on January 1 or afterwards.

The same was in our case. When I landed in December and I had to file the tax return for that year I landed in.

I landed in Canada on October 2014. Before coming to Canada i was working and paying tax in my own country. As of now, i haven't yet started working in Canada. I understand that I am suppose to file my tax in Canada for this year , though i don't have to pay anything/tax to Canadian govt.
Can someone pls suggest me the best way of doing it? Can i do it online ? which app or site is best for this purpose? Also do i need to have hard copy of this to be sent somewhere or everything is online?
