I am an American citizen living and working in Japan. My common-law partner is a Canadian citizen and we would like to move back to Canada together. Originally, she was going to sponsor me, but having done some research EE is looking more and more appealing.
My thinking is that going the EE route will be much less of a burden on my partner and hopefully less stressful overall. In lieu of this, I know that I will need to pay more for a variety of services such as educational credential assessments and language tests. My estimated score on the CRS sits at 445. I believe I can raise it if I were to include my two AA degrees.
I am wary that my score is not up to snuff and that I will be wasting my money if I try for EE. Is it worthwhile to put in the extra money and pursue EE or should I stick to getting sponsored?
