canadaforall - BF'D was 22.1.2011 it means that they will pull out your file and do something. You can't possibly know what would they do. It can be anything and not necessarily involving interactions with you. For example, they sent a request to verify your diploma, work experience, PCC or anything else. So, on BFD they check whether it came back with a result. Or they something else of that nature involving anticipation of a response from third party.
I haven't ordered CAIPS so far. But, if you look at my time-line you will see:
They receive my documents on 29 April 2010. They go through them according to check list.
"Hm-m-m. Detailed resume is missing."
They send me request with 45 days deadline. Clearly in CAIPS it would show BF'D Today+45 days (pull out the file from today 45 days later and see whether they received that detailed resume from me). After BF'D they checked - detailed resume received OK. They started carefully check each document one by one. If they wouldn't receive my detailed resume they won't start that but most probably simply send me the whole package back with refusal on the grounds failing to complain with their request.
Anyway, they go one by one through my papers. Until 30 November 2010 they reach mine and my wife diplomas. Bingo! Even though we studied in that country we did not reside there as it is just an hour (drive) journey from across the border therefore you can always come home and don't have to stay there. So, I did not submit PCC as, technically, neither of us resided there for more than 6 months (actually more than one week).
But, they think "Hm-m-m, even though they did not live there more then 6 months they studied there for four years, there has got to be something if there was."
So, on 30 November 2010, they sent another request - "please send PCC from that country with 45 days."
Again, BF'D will be Today+45 days - pull out the file from today 45 days later and see whether they received those PCC from me.
Now, tell me, after this BF'D, when they see those PCC received from me on 11 January 2011, how would I now what happened and what would they do next?
Unless you your are the immigration officer you wouldn't now. Even he\she doesn't know for sure because it is not a straight forward process since there are other parties involved and that officer does not control them. Next steps depends on many parameters.
So I wait. I cannot control it. There is nothing I can do unless they ask me something. Therefore I am cool. I have other things to work on now.
