Should i send OOPNP application or not - Opinion Needed

Hi Guys,

So a quick background.

I have Canadian master's degree, got PNP invite on 4th June 2015, my CRS score is 451. My IELTS is expiring on 27th July 2015 and i am retaking this on 1st August 2015. I just got married 5 months back and my wife is taking admission in M.Tech which will last approx 1 year at least before she takes her 2nd year submission of thesis.

My OOPNP invite will expire soon now since 45 days are almost over. I am preparing my application documents for submission, however i am confused whether i should submit this or not.

Why -
1. My PNP application was refused before once due to 12 month stay constraint.
2. My IELTS will expire soon so i need to send them renewed one IF THEY ACCEPT
3. I am willing to wait since i have timeline of approx 1-2 years before i can actually move out

What should i do in this situation, should i let the invite pass-by and wait for score to drop since i believe 451 is good enough score, i am asking my wife to take up IELTS in next month may be so score can increase by 20-25 points may be ?

Any input is appreciated.

I would recommend giving it a miss.

If you and your spouse get CLB 9/10 on IELTS (and there is no reason you can't given that you are both well educated) you'll be very comfortably placed in the mid 470s, which is a very high score under the circumstances and would certainly land you an ITA later this year.

And rejecting the OOPNP invite allows some other applicant a chance to get into Canada - that's incidental good karma for you as well.

I took it in well on time and skipped OOPNP, i got invitation in 13th draw sitting at 451

Now i have an issue.

Just that my IETLS EXPIRE on 27th July 2015 what's going to happen now, since my profile has been locked out and a new PR application area has started out, what will happen on 28th july and how should i resolve this situation.

I am taking test on 1st august 2015.

Please help out with this.

Congratulations!

Clearly you have 2 options.

Submit your application before 27th July so that the expiry of test validity doesn't affect your ITA.

Or decline the ITA, wait for IELTS results, get another ITA later and submit the application then.

Do not try holding on to this ITA and updating your later IELTS results in your profile. Even if you have the exact same score this time around, technically it will still be a misrepresentation.

But tell me one thing, i noticed the application of EE is now finalized which means i can not edit the scores or score date in my profile now.

And if i do not update anything, my belief says the ITA is based on what my profile stands on 13th draw date not later ?

Since i already have an ITA and if i hold on it, will my profile expire on 27th July coz i understand that my EE application is finalized and a new application under PR has been initiated, will that affect ?

I understand that if i do hold on to this ITA and get new scores done, i can submit a Letter stating that my old IELTS expired on 27th July and this is why i got new IELTS results done on 1st August with new scores.

ITA is based on your profile and CRS score as on date and it gets locked so you can't make changes to the information that got you the ITA in the first place.

If you submit the application and receive the eAPR before your IELTS expires, that test attempt will be treated as valid throughout the process. If not, the test becomes invalid on 27th July which then means that your ITA is invalid as on that date. It might not show up immediately as invalid (though it should) but CIC will put the onus on you to know that it is invalid and decline it accordingly. Read more about this here.

Not a great idea because it is your responsibility to ensure that your CRS never falls below the draw cutoff till you get eAPR. And that will happen on 27th July if you don't submit your application. That would be a potential cause for rejection.
