So, I applied for a study permit on August. I reported having 52000 CAD. The two years of my course are 30000 CAD (around 15K CAD yearly). And the extra 22K CAD are supposed to be for the two years I will be there. However, around 30K CAD of the money I have were in a certificate of deposit. They were "frozen" and I could not touch them until October 7h. I did this so I would get higher interests and make some extra money. Then I decided to apply for the study permit, so I sent the scanned certificate as proof of funds. Last October 7, my certificate expired, so the 30K CAD are back in my account along the rest of my money. Is my original proof of funds enough? Will the visa officer understand what my certificate of deposit is? Would sending in the updated bank statements which show a deposit of 30K CAD actually hurt my chances? Thanks a lot!
