Should I Send Additional Documents to Avoid RQ?

Hi All,

I am sending my Citizenship application within 2-3 days.Came to Canada in 2009 and have finished the 1095 requested period long ago.

Seeing that a lot of applicants are getting RQ's, I am wondering if it makes sense in sending extra documents for the 4 year period like

- Salary Slips for the past 3-4 years.
- Proof of Employment (offer letters), T4's.
- Copy of lease agreement or ownership of house.
- Notice of assessment from 2009 to present.

I never got an RQ, so I don't have a lot of experience. However, my gut feeling is, don't send anything that they don't ask for. The extra papers may be discarded, and/or it may raise a red flag that they need to scrutinize your application more heavily. If the application specifically states that you have the option of sending in these items, then it may be a good idea, but otherwise I wouldn't. Check with a few other people to see what they think.

When I sent my application, I wasn't a member of this forum and had no idea about RQs. I just sent what was needed and luckily got no RQ.

But it does not hurt to send additional documents. But don't send too many as they might get annoyed, maybe just a couple of them or a few of them, and put a note there saying "I added these additional documents to support the fact that I was a resident in Canada all this time, just in case".

I sent letter from employer and passport photocopy, inaddition to the appln.

I didn't get RQ, but it differs case to case!
