Should I resubmit Application for not writing N/A for these questions?

Hi Everyone,

I recently submitted my application and it already reached Sydney. I forgot or rather overlooked writing N/A for

question 5B: Mailing Address (if different from home address) AND

question 6D: Do you have permanent residence status in any other country? I already ticked the "NO" box but I did not write N/A in the table where it says: "if yes, list the countries and provide the dates" for which you acquired permanent residence status in other countries.

Am I thinking too much? At that point, I thought it was common sense to not put anything since the question said "if Yes" OR "if different" but after sending out the application, I have been having these thoughts that my application might get returned for not writing N/A in all places.

Should I be resending and how does it work?

I just resend the application and change the dates of my addresses and my work and education history to reflect the current date?

Do I resend the online residence calculator?

Do I pay the fee again?

Do I resend the supporting documents too?

Please advice me on this and share your insights.

Thank You.

"N/A" is to be written for sections you don't intend to fill out because they don't apply to you. In your case, when you ticked that box, you already filled that section.

As ES said N/A is for sections that will be all blank if there is no N/A.

6D is fine as it is filled as No.

5B is the question in doubt. 5 A is filled in and 5B says fill in if different. I did put N/A in there. I am not sure it would be an issue or not.

What did you do for 9E Language Instructions for New Comers to Canada (LINC). For most of us it is neither yes nor no. I read else where if we don't write N/A it will be returned.

Do I resend the online residence calculator?

You mean to say you have sent second application since you thought first one has some issues. Normally we would wait until CIC returns the application. I am not sure whether they would link the partial second application with the first one.

If they return the application you will have to send a complete application again as they will return everything. No need to make another payment. If you receive it back just fill in everything and send it back. Old payment receipt would not lose its value. No need to ake another payment.
online residence calculator should be changed if you choose to change the application date. Please not they will not accept stale applications. Dated more than certain time. (I believe it is 6 months)

No, I haven't answered the LINC question. I provided some other language proof. The question had an asterisk mark and also said, note it you don't provide consent, you will be required to provide alternate proof.

Yeah, the home/postal address thing is annoying but seriously getting my application returned for that silly mistake, hmmm…i don't know what to say. But now that the new bill hullabaloo has quietened down, I wouldn't mind if I get my app back in 2 months, I will fill it out and send it to them. No, I have only submitted one app so far.

I was just wondering earlier in case I send another application, how do I go around doing it. Thanks for your insight. However, I thought you would have to put the current date and fill a new online residence thing, because all the dates have to match, right? But you mentioned IF YOU CHOOSE TO CHANGE THE APPLICATION TIME, so does that mean if I get my application returned, I can fill it new as new and put the same date as last time?

1. LINC question is confusing, there are only two options yes or no. For most of us it is neither. I wrote N/A beside the question as I read elsewhere it was returned for leaving it blank. That is so confusing.
2. The application may be dated to past for a reasonable period. But if it is returned after two months it may not be reasonable. You will have to put the new date.

In the instructions
Section 10

Question 10

Sign and date the application form with the signature you currently use on other official documents.

Note. Your application will be returned to you if:

the form is not signed and dated,
stale-dated (dated more than 90 days before CIC receives it),
post-dated (dated into the future).

Note: You must be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship the day before you sign the application form.

It is all good. My application is in process now. Yours should be okay as long as you did not miss the major questions.

cic dont return application for N/A on application form. generally they return for short of document. eg; stamp on back of photo ( name on back of photo not important), clear passport copy, kids educational documents ( must send all progress report what school send quarterly).

SO no need to be worried for N/A
