Should I pay all the fees at once?

I just want to say that I look at this forum frequently, and it's been very helpful to say the least. I'd like to ask a question about the application process, and I don't know if it's been asked before.

My husband and I have been together for ten years. we've been through a ton of things together, and at first, we thought we'd go through US immigration because he was offered a job here in my city. However, I've lived with him before, and after many years of saying that I would never want to live in canada, I find myself wanting to settle there. So he and I are about to go through canadian immigration. I just applied for my passport, my fingerprints, and countless other things I don't quite remember. We hope to have everything ready by the end of May, when my medicals are (I have to fly down to Seattle to take them...first time of a plane, and I'm really nervous...)

I have a question about the fees though. Because we both work full-time, luckily, the fees are affordable now, as opposed to when we first met (we've been together since my senior year of high school). However, I'm wondering if the whole process will move along faster if we pay all the fees up front. My husband says we should wait, but I'm wondering if we'll be better off just paying it all off. I know that the Right of Permanent Residence fee will be paid back to me if I should not become a PR (and I really hope that doesn't happen!), but something tells me it'll make everything easier if I just take care of it now.

Am I right? Or is my husband right? Thank you kindly for your help.

Hi,
Paying Right of Landing Fee before time will not speed up your application. If you have decided to come to Canada, you may pay it now, atleast it will reduce pressure on your mind and you will be able to think on other issues.
Wish you good luck and very very happy long lasting married life.

From what i hear it's better to pay everything up front since you don't have to wait for them to send you a
letter that they are ready to proceed and they need the next balance. and put your file back in queue.

And it is true it does take a lot off your mind in just knowing that you have paid off. The only thing you will be constantly checking is to see if you have any news on the case.

You are in the wrong section of the forum (ask in the international students section) but I am sure if you google this, you will find it.
