Should I include residential lease agreements for the past 4 years?

Hi all,

I am about to send my application in three days, and now I would like to ask you a question. I understand that I am required to provide Work/Education record. Further that, would it be okay if I also provide my apartment leases for the past 4 years? This is not mandatory but if possible, I would like to avoid getting RQ so I think there is no harm to send the leases to prove my residency in Canada. How would you think? Would you please share you comments on that? Thank you!

You're free to do so if you want. Personally I never go beyond what I'm asked to submit, not only for citizenship.

Agree. Somewhere in the guideline I read not to submit documents which were not asked. I will try to find it out and will post here.

I would recommend not to submit docs not asked. At RQ stage you will have to do so.

I submitted my home ownership document even though it was not a requirement. It just shows that you have been living in Canada and cannot harm your application.

I personally advise against trying to solve a problem that you don't yet have and may never have.

It won't hurt your application if you do go ahead and send extra documentation but it won't head off the RQ if you meet the triggers.

There was one famous case where the applicant submitted 900 pages of documentation and an RQ with their original application (see page 22 of this ATIP: residencequestionnaire.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/delayland_cic_theme_park_mar2013.pdf) and still got another RQ. Lawyer asked CIC what they wanted. They told him to just send whatever else they could think of.
