Should I get an ECA for my home degree if I studied in Canada?

I did a 1 year program in Canada. It is a post graduate certificate. I used my home degree to get admitted to the program.

I have worked for more than 1 year in Canada as an analyst. I am gathering all the necessary documents to apply right now. I need to do IELTS General again as my last one expired.
I have asked for my home degree to be evaluated by BCIT ICES ECA since beginning of November.

1. I am now wondering if I should have done the ECA application now. Did I waste $200 ?
2. My work permit is expiring on the 16th Dec and I will apply for a visitor record. What are the changes that I get invited within the next 6 months ?
3. What documents do I need to prove my working experience ?
4. I will pay a consultant for the EE and her fees are 2k CAD. Is it worth it?

1. You need ECA.
2. Chance of invitation depends on your CRS score.
3. If you have foreign work experienc, you need employment letters on company letterhead that are signed and outline responsibilities, salary, hrs worked, time at company etc.
4. You can do it yourself.

Why do you need to pay a consultant for application, there are so many resources online to guide you. I did mine myself and got COPR. Or do you have a complicated case?
Yes, it was good you did ECA
What are your points, that will determine if you can get ITA before your work permit expires and you can apply for BOWP immediately you submit your application.
For you work experience, you need a letter signed and dated with company letterhead, either from your HR or manager confirming your work history with them, salary, duties(make sure they match what’s on the NOC website) provide paystubs as well. Etc

I didn't submit my ECA for my Bachelor's degree from home. I really didn't see the point as I have a Canadian Masters degree. This masters trumps what was done in my home country.

I think there was recently someone who got rejected for not supplying an ECA for their bachelor from a foreign college.
Bachelor precedes masters in education. You can not get a masters without the bachelor, therefor you need the ECA.

Hello Everyone,

I'm kind of confused regarding the valid job offer section when applying for express entry. Here's my situation, I enrolled on a 1 year program in Canada which in turn gave me a PGWP valid for a year also. I'm planning to enter the express entry pool via the FSW program since I still do not qualify for the CEC due to the 1 year work experience in Canada requirement and I don't want to wait for a year to enter the pool. I recently came across the Express Entry BC (EEBC) stream for International Graduate for the Province of British Columbia, if for example I find an employer in British Columbia willing to hire me, would they still need to apply for LMIA, I just want to have insights from someone who's on the same boat as me because I've read from their website that employers from British Columbia don't need an LMIA for their position to be valid? Anyone? I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you
By the way, here's the link where I got the info from

Well they didn't request it from me so I didn't see the point of supplying it. And furthermore I got points for a masters degree which is more than a Bachelors degree. I can see if you're claiming points for two Bachelor's degrees, then by all means supply the ECA. I have a Canadian masters degree and that is what they asked me to show proof of.

That makes no sense, to be honest.

Well, someone on here recently got refused, despite a Canadian Masters, for not having uploaded a wes/eca of their foreign bachelor credentials.

And if you think that doesn't make sense, then feel free to tell IRCC how to do their job.

That officer obviously was being silly. He/she was not making any sense by doing that. Come on! Just think about it.
