I graduated this year in Bachelors degree in hospitality from Delhi. I also have totally irrelevant work experience since 2021 as software engineer.
I am thinking about applying for MBA/MiM program, but my agent says my visa will be rejected since my work expereince is totally irrelevant.
My agent instead advises me to hide work experience and leave the employment history section empty if I want to get visa for MBA/MiM program.
I am totally lost at the moment and reconsidering should I even apply to Canada study permit.

If applying for a MBA then apply to a public DLI, not private. You can see if you get accepted to a MBA program first as it will be based on your grades, experience, SOP, IELTS etc.

But Canada rejects visa for course not related to previous education and work experience, so should I proceed or not?

Don’t rely on strangers on a volunteer forum. It is your life and career. You decide if you want to get admissions to a MBA program, and then apply for a study permit. If you get rejected, so what.

Do you even know what the purpose of an MBA is? Your undergraduate degree is irrelevant and your work experience can also be varied. In fact, applying without experience is way worse than applying with non-business background. This is not India where people do MBA after undergrad, In Canada, you are expected to have some experience so you can enrich the MBA experience of your classmates and you are expected to convey in your MBA application why you want to do an MBA now and how you hope it benefits your career and what you want to do post-graduation. How will you do that to become a leader if you have nothing to offer? Lastly, why are you listening to some chump consultant? You should start thinking for yourself and what you want in Canada and in life. No-one is going to hold your hand once you get here.

Many consultants tell applicants to not list their work experience or certain degrees but then when it comes to applying for PR most realize they need to count the work history and degrees to qualify for PR. Don’t lie is the take home. Agree that most MBA programs want applicants with work experience. To benefit from most MBA programs and to be a contribute as a students you typically have to have experience and understand the dynamics of a typical workplace. Without any experience working in hospitality it wouldn’t make much sense to apply for an MBA.
