I am an October applicant for Jan 2021, there is still no update on my GCkey and it shows that the application is under process.

Should I defer or wait for another week?

If your course can be done online then check with your college about the deadline for defer and wait till then. I applied in October(non SDS India) for jan 2021 and got approved and passport stamped as well.

How long did the stamping process take? It has been 7 days since I sent my passport.

I submitted the passport on Dec5th, have not received it back, but since i got my POE letter, gc portal fully updated to approved and counterfoil details updated I’m assuming its all done and expecting to get it back before the end of next week.

In the same boat.. applied 3 Nov.. i will wait till newyear... since there is no deadline for defer at my college.. so do confirm with your college and wait the maximum u can
