Should I declare animals shipped before I landed?

Not quite sure what to do... My pets shipment was yesterday and my husband collected them all on my behalf. Do I mention them when I land, do I need to declare them even though they are already in the country? The declaration forms are only for goods on you and goods to follow.

Where do you live in the UK? If you will be flying from manchester I can reccomend the people who did my shipment!

I'm not sure on the cost for cats and dogs sorry! Although it cost my husbands friend just over £3,000 to ship her cat over

Does anyone know if there would be a problem having a little dog (chihuahua) fly in cabin, on the same flight that the PR will be landing for the first time? If we do that, should I, the sponsor, be on the flight, or would it be ok if my future husband flies in, lands (with the chihuahua) and I meet him at the airport? Is it not advised to do a PR landing with a pet on the same flight?

You have to ask the airline about small dogs being allowed to travel in the cabin. Some airlines allow it and some don't.

West Jet does allow it. But I want to know if it will be a problem having a person land with a PR for the first time and also having a pet with them.

No, CIC doesn't care. Canadian Food Inspection Agency will be interested as, depending on the pet, you will need various vet documents as proof of immunization and some pets require an import permit as well.

The Food Inspection Agency? This may be giving potential immigrants the wrong idea about what we eat here in Canada.

It may give them a wrong idea, but that is the department if you wish to import pets. Their actual worry is the import of diseases in pets that can pass to animals in the food chain.
