Hi,

I submitted my application to sponsor my Swedish common-law partner (outland) in January 2014. The sponsorship was approved and Mississauga forwarded the application to the London office in April 2014. At that time the processing time for London was 11 months. Since February 2015, it shot up to 29 months. Since it has now been 12 months since London has received my application can I take action to see what is taking so long? I was under the impression that the 29 month didn't apply to applications that were submitted earlier and not from Islamabad.

The only time London contacted us was in the end of January 2015, when they asked us to update the police certificate and to pay the RPRF. We did both of those things shortly after and they confirmed that they were received.

Thank you

its too early to contact your MP. Besides, although some of them are really good at helping, others are not. You will hear from CIC soon ! :D

Hi

You can most definitely contact your MP's office for assistance. Many are more than happy to inquire at any point in the process. Some won't do much until the posted processing time has passed but given the recent jump in London due to the Islamabad backlog, I doubt that any MP (or more specifically, the employee in the MP's office who normally deals with CIC) would refuse to help until 29 months has passed.

No, the 29 months does not reflect the processing times for visa-exempt applicants.

In addition to what canuck_in_uk said, the posted times are historical numbers (as of December 31, 2014 the 80th percentile of cases in London had a date of October 2012). What the numbers are currently is another matter, and why the tracking spreadsheets are so valuable tools.

The current posted processing times represent Jan 1st, 2014 to Dec 31st, 2014.

Ok, thanks everyone!

Was expecting to hear from London soon because they asked for RPRF payment but I'm starting to give up hope since that was almost three months ago. I think I'll see what the MP can find out.

Thanks again

The spreadsheet in my signature tracks applications submitted through London. The cover page has a big red box on it that explains the 29 month thing.
