Should I apply visitor visa or not?

In 2010, I applied for permanent residence and got rejected and banned for entry into Canada on any visa for 2 years due to misrepresentation of information. I am planning to apply for visitor visa now in order to do my H1B stamping. But I am so worried even if I apply now they would reject me because of my past history even though all my documents are true and genuine as I learned from my mistake.

Should I apply or even take out the dream of applying now? Any of the friends has been in the same boat. Your help would be really appreciable.

Thanks and Regards,

Yeah I'm afraid getting a visitor visa will be next to impossible now. But it doesn't hurt to try.

Thanks and Regards,
Sanchayita, as MikeyMyke said your chances of getting a TRV would be next to impossible. However, next to impossible is not impossible. And as MikeyMyke said, it doesn't hurt to try. Despite your history, giving your application a shot, at the very least can be an educational opportunity from you. You can see what they say if they refuse it. However, seeing that you said you learned from your mistake, I suggest you try being genuine from this point onwards. Be honest about all that you did wrong on your former application, and make sure your 2 year bar is up before applying - that's wisdom. Also, if you can afford it, seek legal advise from an Immigration lawyer and see what he/she would recommend. We are humans and we make mistakes, so pardons are not farfetched as life continues after mistakes. Give it a try and see what happens. It's always impossible until it's done. If you really want this visa, then being optimistic helps. No sense spending all your energy thinking about what you don't want. Feed that energy into what you DO want. All the best.
