You didn't say whether your fiancee is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. She would have to be one of those to sponsor you on a spousal visa. I think that spousal sponsorship is much faster than getting a work permit.

I can't say how easy it would be for you to get a decent job in Canada, but I know that a lot of new immigrants find it extremely hard to find anything in the field they were educated for. You could start looking at job ads online and see if you seem to qualify. Keep in mind that you may possibly be at a disadvantage since you don't have Canadian work experience. It's really hard to speculate on whether you could find a good job easily or not based on your brief description. It will depend on the exact skills that you have. A lot of Canadians are also finding it hard to find something in their field of specialization these days. Most ads I see in the software field ask for someone with a computer science degree and it's my belief that they often throw away all resumes without computer science degrees or certificates before they even look at anything else on the resumes. Experience may help, however, but ads often require experience in very specific programming languages, frameworks, or methodologies.

Thanks for the reply..
My Fiancee is neither a canadian citizen nor permanent resident but holds a valid 3 year work permit. She had been staying in canada for last 2.5 years and has got her visa extended for 3 more years. She want me to join her in canada after marriage.
On What basis should we apply??
I Hold a masters degree in business administration in Computer science and my job deals with testing the software for any functional defects.

Post your question in the International Students section, they will be able to guide you. There is an option, I believe, for spouses of foreign students to get an open work permit, but the process is completely different from a PR or citizen sponsoring their spouse, which is what this section of the forum is for.

In order to apply for PR based on point right now, you would need a job offer in Canada.

Follow up with what MilesAway says. I believe that there is a way for someone with a work permit to bring a spouse, but I'm not very familiar with how that works. I'm know a lot about Family Class sponsorships, but your case does not fit into that category.

I'm not sure what your job prospects are. I was talking tonight to an immigrant from India and he says that he had to find a job in a different field from what he was doing in India, but he's happy now with what he ended up with.

If I'm not mistaken, the immigration point system has been strapped. Replaced by immigration based on job demands. This is done to prevent people coming in with highly educated immigrants coming into Canada because they have an university degree but have no jobs lined up or that once in Canada, their university degrees are not accepted/recognized by Canada standards. What's the point in coming to Canada if you can't even get a job in your field of work. This is why you see a lot of university educated immigrants driving cabs / janitorial works / or any jobs totally unrelated to their education credentials.
