What defines a quick marriage and short courtship? thank you!
That totally depends on the culture from which each of you originated and where you currently reside.

Can you elaborate on this more? thank you!
Well, a short courtship and quick marriage in somewhere like Pakistan might mean something completely different in Iceland, for example.

There is no legal definition of those terms. They mean what people, especially visa/immigration officers, perceive them to mean.

I see, im trying to address all red flags that are in my situation so that i can explain them clearly on our application form.

I have known my husband for about 2 years and 4 months before we got married.
Courtship and Proposal was online and he went here for 2 weeks to get married.
its not like we didn't plan to meet in the years we known each other but due to some unavoidable circumstances, our plan of meeting never push through.

now im thinking do i qualify as short courtship and quick marriage situation? even though we talk and communicate everyday for the years we known each other up to the present.

Thanks!

I dont know what filipinos think of short courtship, you should ask your spouse.

To play it safe, usually 1 year dating before marriage is relatively safe for all countries

Does online dating qualify? like i mentioned i knew my husband 2.4 years before we married and i have chat logs, skype logs, and phone bills to prove those.

Did you guys get married during the first meeting? If so, how long after you guys met in person first time, did you get married? CIC is generally receptive towards online dating, but one thing they don't like is if people get married during the first meeting.

Agreed. Getting married the first time you meet (i.e. your first visit/trip together) is a red flag.

Yes we did.
Can you give any suggestion on how to address our red flag? We have been married now for 9 months.
My husbands next visit would be next christmas.
what are other factors that CIC consider as red flag?

So, to sum up: you have been online dating for more than 2 years, but never met. First time you meet for 2 weeks and get married.

And since then, for 9 months, how many times have you seen each other in real life? And you will not see each other until December 2014?

I think that the best solution would be to actually live together for an extended period. From the view point of a Visa Office, this is a marriage "on paper" only. You actually haven't "cohabited" at all.

Yes. If not on May his next visit would be December of 2014.
On our defense we did plan to meet each other on those 2 years but due to some circumstances we couldn't. (We plan to explain this on our application.)

I'm not saying that your application WILL fail, but you can expect it to get a lot of scrutiny, be longer than normal and probably require an interview.
